The members of Olive Leaf Loyal Orange Lodge No.54 would like to congratulate Most Wor. Bro. Harold Henning on being elected as Grand Master. We would also like to thank the outgoing Grand Master Most. Wor. Bro. Edward Stevenson for his service in the role over the past 14 years.

Members of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland have today elected a new Grand Master – only the 21st in the Institution’s 230-year history.

Most Wor. Bro. Harold Henning was unanimously ratified as the Institution’s new leader having served as Deputy Grand Master for 11 years and replaces Most. Wor. Bro. Edward Stevenson who held the position since 2011.

Speaking after the meeting of over 100 senior Orangemen, the new Grand Master said:
“I am truly humbled to have been chosen by the Brethren to become their Grand Master. The Orange Institution plays a central role in the life of many local communities, and I am committed to ensuring the organisation continues to grow and develop in the years ahead.”

Rt. Wor. Bro. Derek Reaney was elected to the post of Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland.

2 minutes a year, to pause, reflect and remember.
For those who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our liberty and freedom.

We didn't know them all, but owe them everything.

"When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today."

Remembering the 36th (Ulster) Division – 1st July 1916

On this day in 1916, the 36th (Ulster) Division went over the top at the Battle of the Somme. In one of the bloodiest days in British military history, the division displayed extraordinary bravery as they attacked the German lines near Thiepval.

Drawn largely from the Ulster Volunteer Force, the division advanced further than any other British unit on the first day of the Somme — but at a devastating cost. Over 5,000 men were killed, wounded, or missing by nightfall.

Their courage and sacrifice are remembered with deep respect and pride. We honour their memory and the legacy they left behind.

“Their name liveth for evermore.”
