REFLECTION (from Godly Parent)

If you've ever flown, you've heard the instruction: “Put your oxygen mask on first before helping your child.” It's not selfish. It's necessary.

The same is true spiritually. When parents neglect their own health, it's often their kids who feel it most.

Every parent wants to raise healthy, happy children. But here's the truth most parents miss: the best version of your kids starts with the best version of you.

A challenging thought for this Thursday morning!

Enabled and encouraged in taking stock of our congregation’s life or witness this church year

As we edge into the final stretch of this church year, it’s good to stop and take stock of what God is doing. A second pair of eyes and the fresh voice of someone from outside who can help us to do so often brings energy, focus and clarity to our conversation.

PCI’s Council for Congregational Life and Witness staff are available to serve your church in this way. Read more about what that might look like and how to make it happen here

‘Our congregation ran a Session conference to sharpen its thinking on ministry and mission in a rapidly changing society. Using the model of how, as a congregation, we are present to God in worship, present to each other in fellowship, and present to our wider community as good neighbours, Council staff provided us with a superbly simple, theologically grounded way of understanding our context, balancing encouragement and challenge. Session came away enthusiastic about prioritising goals and developing strategies to achieve them.’

EASTER

Then Jesus shouted out in a loud voice, "It is finished!"

And it was. He had done it. Jesus had rescued the whole world.

"Father!" Jesus cried. "I give you my life." And with a great sigh he let himself die.

Looking for a great afternoon out with families connected to your church?

Join in the fun at the PCI Family Festival on Saturday 9 May 2026 from 2 to 5pm at Spruce Meadows, Lisburn

Many congregations have a connection with families who love their children being part of activities like toddler groups, uniformed organisations and kids’ clubs, but aren’t involved in the rest of the life of the church. The PCI Family Festival can help you to take the next step in building relationships with those families by providing an opportunity to invite families of all shapes and sizes, with children aged 0–11, to enjoy a fun afternoon of outdoor activities, crafts and games.

PCI Podcast Series: Really present… in home and church life 🎙

In this third episode, presenter Will Leitch visits the Crockard family in Carrickfergus and explores with Jason, Hannah, Sophia and Noah what it’s like to be really present to God in their home life and in the wider family of their church.

This series is part of PCI’s Present initiative, which encourages congregations and their members to be:

• Present in this season of life and witness
• Present to God as his people
• Present for one another in the church
• Present where God has placed us to be his witnesses

💬 Listen in, share with others, and reflect on what it looks and feels like for God to be at centre of your family life.
