Ceoltóirí Chluain Ard

Formed last year, Ceoltóirí Chluain Ard brings together a talented group of musicians, many of whom have strong connections with the Clonard community and Clonard Monastery.

Ahead of this week’s Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Belfast, they gathered at the Monastery to share their musical gifts and talents of traditional Irish music.

Today we celebrate St Alphonsus Liguori, founder of the Redemptorists, whose life and ministry were dedicated to proclaiming God’s boundless love.
St Alphonsus reminds us that the beauty of creation points us to the beauty of its Creator:

“When we see a beautiful object, a beautiful garden, or a beautiful flower, let us think that there we behold a ray of the infinite beauty of God.”
Today, may we take a moment to pause, appreciate the beauty around us, and allow it to draw us closer to God.

Good morning, and happy Feast of St Alphonsus de Liguori!
Today we give thanks for the life and witness of St Alphonsus de Liguori, founder of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (the Redemptorists). His deep love for Christ the Redeemer and his passion for proclaiming God’s mercy continue to inspire our mission today.

St Alphonsus believed that no one should ever feel forgotten or beyond God’s love. He challenged his followers to bring the hope of the Gospel to the poorest and most abandoned, meeting people where they are with compassion, dignity and hope.

Here at Clonard Youth Ministry, and across the worldwide Redemptorist family, we are proud to continue that mission by journeying with young people, creating spaces of welcome, listening, faith, friendship and service. Inspired by St Alphonsus, we strive to help each person discover their God-given worth and to become witnesses of hope in today’s world.

May St Alphonsus continue to guide and inspire all who share in the Redemptorist mission.
