Members of the parish gardening group had a busy Saturday morning last week planting forty new plants and shrubs in the parish gardens. The plants and compost as well as new tools and equipment were purchased with the assistance of a small grant from Here Love Here. Our aim is to increase the gardens’ potential as a pollinator friendly site while adding to the year round colour and density of the garden spaces for the enjoyment of everyone.

A gathering of parish leaders and those who use parish facilities took place on Tuesday 29th September for the launch of the Four W groups. These 4 groups will gather representatives from parish life under the four headings of Word, Worship, World and Work.

The next gathering will focus on the individual groups:
Work - Wednesday 14th October
World - Saturday 17th October
Word - Wednesday 21st October
Worship - temporarily allocated out across the other groups

The parish ceili is taking place this Friday evening. It’s a night of fun and laughter with a dollop of exercise. Come and join us!!

You may have spotted this bench at the front of the church across from the garden. No doubt many of you have sat on it to come closer to God in nature or to share a conversation with friends.

This bench was purchased for the parish in memory of Francesco Pedinelli and was blessed by Fr Conor in October 2023. Francesco’s wife maintains the bench and flowers with the help of Brian Moore.

As you sit on the bench, please spare a prayer for Francesco and for all those he loved and who loved him.

St Colmcille’s Laudato Si Group is delighted to welcome Roisin O’Hara from Trocaire to our parish hall next Wednesday 9th September at 7.15.

Roisin will speak about the life and witness of Oscar Romero. This is the first of four weekly events exploring Catholic Social Teaching through the lives of inspiring individuals. All are warmly welcome to attend.

Our groups are volunteer-powered and we'd love to hear from you if you'd like to get involved in fixing or helping with organising, publicity or refreshments.

Repair Cafes are set up and run by local people, and we are excited there are more communities preparing to launch repair cafes soon - watch this space!
