You just need to step into Fitzroy on any given day or check out the Church Calendar to know that it's a busy place, with groups for people of all ages.

Today we want to say THANK YOU to all of those who lead our various weekly and monthly groups. They make sure the programmes are planned, the coffee is on and that there are people here to welcome you.

As you pray thank God for the folk who are willing to give up their time to organise our various groups for people of all ages. For their creativity in developing weekly programmes that meet the needs of all and for the teams who support them. Why not ask God how you could get involved in helping to lead one of these groups or serve in one of these important ministry areas?

Today we want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of those who look after our 'Junior Fitzers' each week through our Youth and Children's Programmes.

From teaching, to serving juice, dealing with cut knees or just sitting having a chat about faith these guys are the frontline of making sure the next generation grow up loving and following Jesus.

Take some time to pray for all those who serve in our Youth and Children's groups, pray for time to get refreshed and rejuvenated over the summer ready to come back in September and do it all again. Pray especially for the team preparing for our 'Walk in Wonder' Kids Club in July and those taking our young people to Summer Madness at the end of the month.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT - JOEL

Where do you Volunteer and how long have you been volunteering at Fitzroy?
I've been Volunteering for 3 years and I volunteer with both Frenzy on Friday nights and Sunday morning Download.

What made you decide to Volunteer?
I decided to start volunteering at Fitzroy because I wanted to grow in the community while also being able to develop my leadership skills. This has grown into wanting to guide the kids I work with and be someone they can trust.
The thing I have enjoyed the most about volunteering at Fitzroy is seeing how much fun the kids have at Download and Frenzy. Also being able to see how intrigued they are with learning and asking plenty of questions.

Do you have any memorable moments from your time Volunteering?
Some of the best memories I have as a volunteer are seeing how much fun the kids have, how thankful they are when they leave and that they want to come back every week.

What would you say to anyone that is thinking of Volunteering?
If you're thinking about volunteering, it is an amazing experience and totally worth it. Everyone is so kind, and any help is appreciated. You will be welcomed no matter what you choose to volunteer in.

If you would like to Volunteer with any of our organisations email [email protected] to find out more.

We say THANK YOU today for the members of our Session and Committee.

They work tirelessly in the background to keep everything running, from helping to make sure everything we do is compliant and our buildings are kept in the best possible care. To overseeing the Spiritual direction of the Church and listening for what they believe God is saying for the direction of Fitzroy.

As you pray today give thanks to God for those who have been elected to and accepted these positions and for His guidance and wisdom. Pray especially for our new Elders, that they will hear and know God's voice as they step into this new area of calling and church leadership.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT - CAROLINE

Where do you Volunteer and how long have you been volunteering at Fitzroy?
I have been Volunteering with Fitzroy for about 20 years and I organise the tea and coffee rota. I'm also a member of the Church Committee and have recently joined the School of Music subgroup.

What made you decide to Volunteer?
I had seen at my previous church how important the coffee time after church had been for building community, deepening fellowship and encouraging friendships. I wanted to share that at Fitzroy. It's a very simple thing, but, I believe, a really important part of our Fitzroy family. I love to see everyone laughing and enjoying one another's company after church over a cup of tea or coffee.

Do you have any memorable moments from your time Volunteering?
The great thing about Fitzroy is that everyone is happy to muck in. There have been times (mercifully very few!) when I have forgotten to organise the rota, but people have just stepped in and made it happen!

What would you say to anyone that is thinking of Volunteering?
It's a really good way to meet new people, and you definitely get more out of it than you put in!

As we celebrate our Volunteers this week, we can't wait to gather with you all to say THANK YOU over a BBQ and some 'organised fun' on Friday 19th June.

If you volunteer with us and haven't received your invitation yet, double check your inbox or speak to your ministry leader.

Each Sunday there are a team of people working away to make sure you can see and hear everything that happens during the service and ensuring the streaming is working for all the folk at home, so they can be part of what we do.

Usually overlooked unless a microphone isn't working or the screen goes off, spend some time today saying THANK YOU to our AV and Sound Team.

As you pray today pray for the teams, for the important ministry they undertake and for new members to think about how they could serve in this way.

VOLUNTEER SPOTLIGHT - SAEED

Where do you Volunteer and how long have you been volunteering at Fitzroy?
I volunteer at the AV desk and have been doing this for around a year.

What made you decide to Volunteer?
The Church and many volunteers helped me when I arrived in Belfast. They shared their love and kind, so I believe, I have to do something that I can for our Church and them.

What would you say to anyone that is thinking of Volunteering?
Don't loose this opportunity and chance. Join to your family and enjoy. Share your love and grab it by other hand.

If you would like to Volunteer with any of our organisations email [email protected] to find out more.

Todays THANK YOU goes to all the Volunteers who make up our Operational Teams that serve in so many way throughout the Church.

Whether it's driving people to Church or clubs who otherwise wouldn't be able to make it, setting up for groups, ensuring our compliance and health and safety obligations are met, looking after safeguarding to over seeing the operation of our buildings.

These folk work very hard in the background to make sure we have a safe and secure Church building and environment to walk into each week.

Pray for these volunteers as they oversee this area of our work, thank God for their wisdom and insight into areas most of us don't even know exist. Ask for guidance for our safeguarding team as they implement the new safeguarding requirements from PCI and for all who keep our Church operating on a daily basis.
