COLLECT
God,
the strength of all those who put their trust in you:
Mercifully accept our prayers
and, because through the weakness of our mortal nature
we can do no good thing without you, grant us the help of your grace,
that in the keeping of your commandments
we may please you, both in will and deed;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

PRAYERS

Almighty God, whose mercies are without number and without end, remember for good your church: all who in every place call on the name of the Lord, both theirs and ours; and let your kingdom come in all the world.
We pray for the Diocese of Connor,
George our Bishop, for our parish, for Louise our Rector and for all who serve, worship and witness in our Grouped Parishes.
Look graciously upon our country, upon our parishes and neighbourhood in which we live; and give wisdom to those who exercise authority among us in Church and State, in education and industry, that we may be led in the ways of justice, truth and freedom.
Let your blessing rest upon the members of our parishes unable to attend public worship and missing the fellowship of parish activities.
Lord, watch over the young; support the aged; relieve those in pain or sickness; comfort the sorrowful and those that mourn; succour the dying; and let your peace rest upon us all; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Almighty God,Father of all mercies, we thine unworthy servants do give thee most humble and hearty thanks for all thy goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all men. We bless thee for our creation, preservation and all the blessings of life: but above all, for thine inestimable love in the redemption of the world by our Lord Jesus Christ; for the means of grace, and for the hope of glory. And we beseech thee, give us that due sense of all thy mercies, that our hearts may be unfeignedly thankful, and that we show forth thy praise, not only with our lips but in our lives; by giving up ourselves to thy service, and by walking before thee in holiness and righteousness all our days; through Jesus Christ our Lord, to whom with thee and the Holy Spirit be all honour and glory, World without end. Amen.

COLLECT
ALMIGHTY and everlasting God, who hast given unto us thy servants grace, by the confession of a true faith to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity, and in the power of the Divine Majesty to worship the Unity: We beseech thee, that thou wouldest keep us stedfast in this faith, and evermore defend us from all adversities, who livest and reigned, one God, world without end. Amen.

MATHEW 28:16-20
Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to go. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.”

Prayers.

Loving God, you gather us as your people and have formed us into a community of faith, hope and love. Humbly we ask you, make our parish a communion of communities.

Help us to turn away from sin and believe the Gospel, so that we may be faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, and to be more like Him day by day.

Guide those that lead our worship with your wisdom and love. Inspire all our parishioners to offer our time, talents and treasures as stewards of the Gospel, for the growth of your Kingdom.

May the Holy Spirit enlighten and invigorate us to actively participate in the mission you entrusted to us, so that we may be a worshipping, witnessing, and serving community.

May the spirit of collaboration and co-responsibility bring us into a fuller and fruitful communion with you and with one another. We ask this through Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Blessed be God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit,

the Three in One, the holy and wonderful Trinity

bound together in one eternity of love.

Blessed be God the Creator of all things.

Blessed be the Christ, our Saviour and Friend.

Blessed be the spirit within us, our Guide and Strength.

Blessed be God for all that he is and all he has done.

Blessed be the One and the Three.

God, our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
We bring to you in our prayers those who are suffering as
a result of Illness or the impact of mental health.
We pray for those in hospitals, hospices and nursing homes,
and those that are housebound.
Bless all that is being done for their good, surround them
with your healing love and power.

God of all hope and giver of comfort, we commend to your keeping
those who mourn the loss of loved ones.
Give the bereaved the peace that passes all understanding, and make them to know that neither death nor life can separate them from your love in Jesus Christ our Lord.

We give thanks that you give life and life eternal
that you are a renewing and restoring God.
As we rejoice in the resurrection,
we ask your blessing upon our loved ones departed.
May they know the peace and glory of your kingdom.

Merciful Father,
accept these our prayers
for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ
Amen.

ACTS 2:1-21
The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost
When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. 2 Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. 4 All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues[a] as the Spirit enabled them.

5 Now there were staying in Jerusalem God-fearing Jews from every nation under heaven.6 When they heard this sound, a crowd came together in bewilderment, because each one heard their own language being spoken. 7 Utterly amazed, they asked: “Aren’t all these who are speaking Galileans? 8 Then how is it that each of us hears them in our native language?9 Parthians, Medes and Elamites; residents of Mesopotamia, Judea and Cappadocia, Pontusand Asia,10 Phrygia and Pamphylia, Egypt and the parts of Libya near Cyrene; visitors from Rome 11 (both Jews and converts to Judaism); Cretans and Arabs—we hear them declaring the wonders of God in our own tongues!” 12 Amazed and perplexed, they asked one another, “What does this mean?”

13 Some, however, made fun of them and said, “They have had too much wine.”
14 Then Peter stood up with the Eleven, raised his voice and addressed the crowd: “Fellow Jews and all of you who live in Jerusalem, let me explain this to you; listen carefully to what I say.15 These people are not drunk, as you suppose. It’s only nine in the morning! 16 No, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:

17 “‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.
18 Even on my servants, both men and women,
I will pour out my Spirit in those days,
and they will prophesy.
19 I will show wonders in the heavens above
and signs on the earth below,
blood and fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun will be turned to darkness
and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
21 And everyone who calls
on the name of the Lord will be saved.’

Prayers.

We pray for the church throughout the world, and
for all Christians. We pray for the Diocese of Connor,
George our Bishop, for our parish, for Louise our Rector and for all who serve, worship and witness in our Grouped Parishes.

Almighty God we pray for peace and harmony throughout
your world, remembering those areas torn by war, and poverty.
Pour out upon the leaders of the nations your spirit of peace,
restrain the passions of those who plan aggression,
strengthen the hands of those who strive for justice and peace

God, our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble, we bring to you in our prayers those who are now suffering as a result of dementia or the impact of mental health. Uphold those awaiting treatment and those recovering from surgery. We pray for those ill at home, those in hospitals, hospices and nursing homes. Give compassion and wisdom to those that have their care.
Bless all that is being done for their good, surround them with your healing love and power. Amen

Loving Father, we pray for those who have died alone, loved and unloved.
We rejoice that the dead as well as the living are in your love and care;
we remember with thanksgiving those who have gone before us in the way of Christ. We pray that we may be counted worthy to share with them
the life of your kingdom. Amen

Merciful Father,
accept these our prayers
for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ. AMEN.

O God the King of glory,
who hast exalted thine only Son Jesus Christ
with great triumph unto thy kingdom in heaven;
We beseech thee, leave us not comfortless;
but send to us thine Holy Spirit to comfort us,
and exalt us unto the same place
whither our Saviour Christ is gone before,
who liveth and reigneth with thee and the Holy Spirit,
one God, world without end.

PRAYERS FOR FAMILY

Bless those close to us,
our family and friends.
Bless the neighbourhood
of which we are a part.
Bless the young and old,
faces known or strangers.
Keep them safe and well,
meet them in their needs,
our loving God, we pray.

Bless the many people
to whom we entrust
the care of our children;
the baby sitters, childminders,
nursery workers, teachers,
doctors, nurses, grandparents,
aunts, uncles and neighbours
who together become
part of an extended family
bringing love and laughter
into the lives of both
parent and child.
Bless their contribution
and the care that they give.

We pray for the many families
struggling with life at present
through illness, loss of work,
mounting debt and anxiety.
May we be there when needed
by our own family and close friends,
but also when our neighbours
close by and further afield
need a shoulder to lean upon
or simply a helping hand;
that as community, together,
we can share your love, in word
and deed, to your glory, loving God.

For all who we love,
both family and friends,
be that constant presence
in their daily lives
with whom they can share
both joys and sorrows,
and know they can turn to
in times of trouble.
Be the rock they choose
to build their lives upon,
that sure foundation
on which they can depend.

Thank you, Lord
for showing us that love
has no boundaries or end
but listens, has patience,
compassion, grace
and gives without counting cost.
Thank you for granting us
a heart for those you love
and a willingness
to step out in faith
and service.
AMEN

God our redeemer,
you have delivered us from the power of darkness
and brought us into the kingdom of your Son:
Grant, that as by his death he has recalled us to life,
so by his continual presence in us he may raise us to eternal joy;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
PRAYER

Almighty God, whose mercies are without number and without end, remember for good your church: all who in every place call on the name of the Lord, both theirs and ours; and let your kingdom come in all the world.
Look graciously upon our country, upon our parishes and neighbourhood in which we live; and give wisdom to those who exercise authority among us in Church and State, in education and industry, that we may be led in the ways of justice, truth and freedom.

Lord, watch over the young; support the aged; relieve those in pain or sickness; comfort the sorrowful and those that mourn; succour the dying; and let your peace rest upon us all; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Creator God, Jesus teaches us through the
beauty and abundance of creation to put our
trust in you for all things. We ask you now to
bless our fields and gardens
our hills and streams our rivers, lakes,
reservoirs and seas that in all these things we
might glimpse a reflection of your glory and
your gracious love for each one of us.
Bless, O Lord, the houses and farms and all the
homes in this place.
Give us good health, purity of spirit, strength
and humility, hospitality, a spirit of forgiveness
and firm knowledge of our need to seek you in
all things.
We pray in the name of Jesus,
creative Word of God. Amen.

Almighty God, from whom all thoughts of truth and peace proceed; Kindle, we pray thee, in every heart the true love of peace; and guide with thy pure and peaceable wisdom those who take counsel for the nations of the earth; that in tranquillity thy kingdom may go forward, till the earth is filled with the knowledge of thy love; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God of justice and peace,
we pray for those who have been injured
or disabled through war.
For those who have lost homes
and security through conflict; for those who have lost loved relatives in wars;
for those who face danger and take risks for peace;
for all those, especially children, caught up in current conflicts;
for refugees and all those in need of aid and other help.
God of encouragement and Saviour of the despairing,
comfort those who remember past sacrifices
and guide us in building a just and peaceful community for all. Amen.

Merciful Father,
accept these our prayers
for the sake of your Son,
our Saviour Jesus Christ. AMEN.
