Crosslinks in Ireland

Crosslinks in Ireland Crosslinks is a missionary society whose main goal is to enable Churches and Christians to bring the good news of Jesus to the world.

We seek to bring God's word to God's word and do so by enabling those who believe the Gospel to share the Gospel with everyone.

Alastair and Elise Donaldson moved to Galway in August 2024 and have spent the last 18 months settling into their new neighbourhood, making friends, securing part-time jobs and beginning to explore what the Lord would have them do.

It has been a rollercoaster ride!

'Is anyone among you in trouble? Let them pray. Is anyone happy? Let them sing songs of praise. Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them… The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.' James 5

We recently gathered for a day’s orientation training with a team that is going to serve some of our mission partners in South Africa.

Alun and Debbie Burt live and work in Heideveld, a community deeply affected by the legacy of Apartheid. Everyone really valued learning more about the church and community at the orientation.

The team, which will fly in July, consists of nine individuals from churches across Diocese of Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh and will be led by Christiaan and Karen Snell who have partnered with the Burts for 18 years!

During the trip, the team will serve at St Thomas Church, helping to run a mid-week holiday club and attending Sunday services and midweek groups. They will also spend time observing other ministries in Cape Town and enjoy a day exploring Cape Town.

Please pray for the team as they prepare to travel and support and encourage Alun and Debbie.

Alun serves as rector of St Thomas Church, an Anglican church in Cape Flats, and is keenly involved in evangelism and discipleship, as well as training apprentices for Bible teaching ministry.

Debbie spends most of her time at home with their four children, Likhona, Ilana, Malachi and Timothy. She homeschools Ilana and is involved at St Thomas Church with Sunday School and women’s discipleship.

Crosslinks mission partner, Simon Donohoe, is interviewed on the Gospel books Ireland Podcast.

He talks about his book “Refuge: Meditations for Times of Trouble” and how it was written during the pandemic.

He reflects on how Christians can find refuge in the midst of trouble, whether they are navigating personal loss, global anxiety, or simply the strain of everyday life.

It is a really encouraging and thoughtful interview! Do check it out!

Josh and Cathy Ho**er have been serving as mission partners in Lesotho, Namibia and Northern Ireland for the last 20 years.

They are returning to Namibia (Josh flies this week) and will be based at Eastside Baptist Church.

Josh will be preaching regularly and co-ordinating church-based training, as well as supporting young local pastors in their ministries. They will also be equipping local believers to use Christianity Explored.

Josh and Cathy have a passion to see the Bible well taught in the local church and preachers equipped to preach.

Hamilton Road Presbyterian Church partners with Josh & Cathy and Richard (our Ireland Team Leader) was delighted to attend a service to commission and pray for Josh & Cathy as they return to Namibia.

Please pray for them in this new phase of ministry!
