It was wonderful to gather together tonight in a packed church for “A Celebration of Hope: Good News People with Good News Stories.”

Across the evening we heard encouraging testimonies from around the Church of Ireland of lives being changed, churches being renewed, people coming to faith, and fresh opportunities for mission and witness across this island. It was deeply encouraging to pause and remember that God is still at work in powerful and often quiet ways through ordinary faithful people and congregations.

Alongside worship, conversation, food, and fellowship, there was a real sense of encouragement and unity as people gathered together around the good news of Jesus Christ.

Thank you to everyone who came, shared, served, organised, and took part in the evening. Please continue to pray for renewal, courage, and faithful gospel witness across the Church of Ireland in the years ahead.

We live in a world where everyone is searching for something, and our culture seeks to capture our imagination and heart with stories that try to answer that longing. Thankfully, as Christians we are those who have encountered the beauty of the Gospel and have a better story to tell.

Join us on Friday the 8th of May from 18:30 at Newcastle Presbyterian Church for worship, fellowship, prayer, and gospel encouragement. Come and hear good news stories of God at work across the Church of Ireland, reflect on this moment with honesty and hope, and be encouraged for the years ahead.
Whether you are clergy or lay, younger or older, from north or south, you are warmly invited. Come for the supper, stay for the gathering.

If you are in Sligo tomorrow night, do come along to the CIEF Good News Evening at Calry Parish Church. With Bishop Ken Clarke speaking, this will be an evening of Bible teaching, encouragement, fellowship, and prayer, centred on the good news of Jesus Christ. In a time of confusion and uncertainty, gatherings like this matter as we seek to strengthen one another in gospel confidence and faithful witness. Refreshments from 7.00pm, with the meeting beginning at 7.30pm.
