We were saddened to hear news from Canada of the Promotion to Glory of Samuel Young, a former Bandmaster of our Corps during the Dee Street years.

As we thank God for Samuel’s quiet and sincere faith we know that a Heavenly reward is now his and he is free from suffering.

As a musician, Samuel had a wonderful sense of expression both on the cornet and piano. His giftedness was used on so many occasions to bring much blessing in our Sunday meetings and beyond. The message of a simple hymn tune so often brought new meaning by his sensitivity and musicianship.

In extending our deepest condolences to Sylvia, Adele, Elaine, the family in Canada, and in NI, we send our love and prayers to all those who are feeling the loss so deeply just now.

On a personal level, I am very grateful for the opportunities Samuel gave me when he was our Bandmaster and for his and Sylvia’s care and continuing encouragement over the many years since.

The younger children today heard the story of Noah’s Ark by using the sensory tray, stories, puzzles, songs and drawing. The children drew their own Noah’s Ark and chose which animal they would put in the Ark. The session ended with lovely prayers from the children.

Every Sunday at 12noon - all 3-6 yrs are welcome 😊
