Hello everyone and welcome to this morning’s closing service.

This is Rev Ivan Neish speaking on Hebrews Chapter 11 v 32 - Chapter 12 v 3 and bringing to an end 150 years of faithful ministry in the Tigers Bay Area.

Our small congregation is thankful for the support of many friends who joined us at this service.

We would value your prayers as we seek God’s help in finding new spiritual homes.

To God be the glory, great things he has done.

Pray for congregations all across Ireland as they remember the Saviour’s birth, that the wonder of the virgin birth may not be lost. “Lo within a manger lies, He who built the starry skies”.
✝ Worship: Praise and promise
Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion; to you our vows will be fulfilled. Psalm 65:1.
As we enter a new year in worship, pray that our hearts will be filled with praise to God and that we would offer our lives afresh in rededication to him.

Pray that, in the middle of the academic year, the Lord would give the College community spiritual joy in Immanuel.

P R A I S I N G

Many expectations of Christmas are not met and this can lead to disappointment and sadness. There is comfort in knowing that what was prophesied to happen took place - a Saviour was born and this enabled the shepherds, who were originally afraid, to rejoice. May it be the same for us today, as a New Year approaches.

Hello everyone.

We’d love to see you at our church service on Thursday morning.

It doesn’t matter what age you are, if you’ve never been to Newington before, if you’ve never been to any church before … you’ll be welcome.

The service will be short, informal, friendly.

Bring the kids, let them bring their toys, we don’t mind.

Since this will be our last Christmas together as a church family we want to make it memorable for all the right reasons. Having you there would help.

We’ll be in the Minor Hall at 10.30am to celebrate the reason for the season. Please come.

A M A Z E D

It was quite a night for the shepherds. This was no ordinary day on duty for them and the flock of sheep they cared for. They went from being afraid to being amazed. The difference being Jesus whom they met in Bethlehem. May we know the difference Jesus can make between our earthly worries and the heavenly promises we have in his name.

T E R R I F I E D

We can all be resistant to change, especially when things are sprung on us last minute - like the shepherds. One minute they were tending to their sheep, the next the sky opened and an angel spoke to them and they were blinded by the light. We too can be afraid - remember God sees the whole picture and is in control, therefore we should not fear but trust in his loving care and mercy.

𝑳𝒖𝒌𝒆 2:8-10

🇲🇼 Volker & Jinhyeog Glissmann, global mission workers, Malawi
Pray for God’s hand of blessing and encouragement to be on the whole Glissmann family in this advent season; for Volker as he progresses his work with TEENet and engages in grassroots theological education; for Jinhyeog teaching music at Phoenix School in Blantyre; for Micha and Lucas in their education; and for Lina and Josh as they settle into married life together.
🙇 Leaders in Training (LITS)
Give thanks for the 35 Leaders in Training from seven countries, including India, Myanmar and Malawi, that PCI has been supporting during 2025. Pray that their ongoing studies in a range of different subjects would progress well, equipping them for effective service for the sake of Christ and his Kingdom.
