Glory to God whose power working in us, can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. 🙏

She was chasing fame. Then she met Jesus.

As a teenager, Clare Crockett wanted to be an actress. She had already begun working in television and dreamed of making it in the entertainment industry.

Becoming a nun wasn't even on her radar.

Then, on Good Friday, she reluctantly attended a church service.

There, she experienced something she never expected. Looking at the crucifix, Clare realized that Jesus had willingly given His life for her. That encounter with Christ changed the direction of her life forever.

Over time, she left behind the career she had envisioned and entered religious life, becoming Sr. Clare Crockett.

She spent the rest of her life joyfully serving God and others.

In 2016, while serving in Ecuador, a powerful earthquake claimed her life at just 33 years old.

Although her life was short, her witness continues to bear fruit. Her story reminds us that when we surrender our own plans to God, He can use our "yes" to touch countless lives.

Please join us in praying for everyone discerning their vocation. May they trust that God's plans are always greater than anything we could imagine for ourselves. 🙏

Today, as we celebrate the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, the Gospel leads us to one of the most profound mysteries of our faith "Just as Moses lifted up the serpent in the desert, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life"

There are moments when our own crosses can feel heavy - illness, disappointment, bereavement, broken relationships, loneliness, uncertainty, failure or struggles that nobody sees. At such moments, we can be tempted to think that God has abandoned us. But the Cross tells us otherwise. When we look at Christ crucified, we see a God who does not abandon us in our suffering. He is there with us, carrying us and leading us towards resurrection.

On this feast, perhaps we can bring our own crosses before the Lord. We do not have to pretend that they are easy. We can simply place them into his hands and pray: "Lord Jesus, you carried your Cross for me. Help me to carry mine with you"
