Advent means “coming”. In this season we focus on the meaning of the coming of the Son of God into the world. We celebrate his coming to us as Emmanuel - God with us! The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. It’s a season of anticipation and waiting.

This year we’ll be looking at how and why Jesus came into the world.

You’re very welcome to join us as we gathering at 10:30am each Sunday of Advent.

There has been a faithful witness to the gospel of Jesus Christ at 25 Upper Newtownards Road since 1903; 120 years of discipling, mission, and renewal. Our desire is for that gospel work to continue in this location for another 100 years. In a time where many old church buildings in Belfast are being sold to developers for conversion into apartments and restaurants, Village East is grateful for the opportunity to purchase this building to make it our base for gathering and doing gospel ministry.

We want to ask you to join us in praying the Lord would provide for us to be able to make this purchase. If you’d like to give or receive more information on this project visit www.villagebelfast.com/gospel-legacy

From this Sunday, 16th January, we'll be moving back to 2 Sunday gatherings - 9:30am (w/ kid's ministry) & 11:30am.

We haven't made this decision lightly, but believe it's the wisest one at the moment. Our current circumstances and numbers have showed us that it's just not possible to safely fit everyone in the room together.

What a great problem to have! The Lord will bring us through and we'll continue to ask him for wisdom from above.

Thank you to everyone for your patience as we do our best to navigate the way forward.

Advent begins this Sunday. It's a season of waiting, hoping, and looking forward.

At this time of year we often hear and see the words “Season’s Greetings!” Our advent theme this year will be greetings given various people about the Lord Jesus, as recorded in Luke’s gospel.

As we turn our attention toward the coming of Christ we will see that the original season’s greetings were the Promise of the Saviour, the Praise of the Saviour, a Prophecy of a Saviour, and finally announcing the Presence of a Saviour.

We’re gathering at 9:30am (children’s ministry) and 11:30am each Sunday of Advent and you would be most welcome to join us as we look to the Saviour who has come and will one day come again.
