We were delighted to welcome Californian filmmaker Allen Wolf to Downpatrick today, as he interviewed Saint Patrick Centre Director Tim Campbell for his upcoming film The Legacy of Saint Patrick.

The film will explore the enduring legacy of Saint Patrick and is set to premiere at film festivals around the world next year.

The Mother of All Asia – Tower of Peace

A magnificent monument dedicated to the Virgin Mary, standing as a symbol of unity, love, and peace for Asia and the entire world. Located at the heart of the eight-hectare Montemaria International Pilgrimage & Conference Center in Sitio Montemaria, Batangas City, Philippines, this magnificent shrine rises 98.15 meters (322 feet) high, making it the tallest statue of the Virgin Mary in the world.

During the Mass, a specially-assembled choir and orchestra will perform Patrick Davey’s Irish language Mass setting ‘Aifreann Feirste’ (‘Belfast Mass’), and the main soloist will be the award-winning singer Róise Ní Mhurchú from Derry.

Aifreann na Fleidhe will be celebrated in the beautiful and historic St. Patrick’s Church, 199 Donegall Street, Belfast, and The Bishop of Down & Connor, The Most Reverend Alan McGuckian, will be the chief celebrant. The Mass will be broadcast live on Raidió na Gaeltachta.
