On Saturday evening members of LOL717 attended the Orange Community Awards. Last year our Worshipful Master selected the Charity TINYLIFE as the WMs charity for his term in Office, raising a staggering £11,000 to help premature babies and their families here in Northern Ireland, this Charity is very close to his Heart🧡

They Picked up the Award for OUTSTANDING COMMUNITY SERVICE 2026.

Great effort from everyone involved and a massive well done To Bro Lee McKee PM for co-ordinating this.

Grand Master’s Charity 2026

The Grand Master, Most Wor. Bro. Harold Henning has chosen Dementia NI as his nominated charity for the year ahead.

The Grand Master said:
“Dementia doesn’t just affect the elderly. As an organisation with a wide range of ages amongst our membership, I want to highlight and support the important work of Dementia NI.
The charity was founded in 2015 by those living with dementia and seeks to ensure that the voices of those living with the condition are heard, understood, and respected. As a Northern Ireland based charity, all money raised is spent locally.”

Throughout 2026, the proceeds from several GOLI events including our annual Gala Dinner, A Joyful Noise, Balmoral Show and sporting events will be donated to Dementia NI.

Local lodges are also encouraged to consider supporting the charity through their own events during 2026.

The Officers and Members of LOL 717 - Reverend William Maguire are saddened to learn of the passing of Past Worshipful Grand Master, The Most Wonderful Brother Rev W Martin Smyth. We would like to pass on our deepest sympathy to his family at this very sad time. 🧡🧡🧡🧡

This Friday evening members form LOL717 accompanied by Pride Of The Hill Carnmoney will Float our banner, visiting Brethren are more than welcome to join us. Parade moves off at 7pm from Ardgart Place Rathcoole and makes its way to Cloughfern Protestant Hall. We are having a fund raising event in the Hall after the Parade, everyone is welcome 🇬🇧🧡
