All Saints Church, Kempston

All Saints Church, Kempston Welcome to the ancient Parish Church of All Saints. The church has stood since 1099 and welcomes the whole community with events & activities for all ages. Rev.

Welcome

All Saints Church has stood here since 1099 and may have replaced an even earlier building. Down the centuries, our church has witnessed Christian Faith in Kempston and we continue that witness through our worship, which is centred on the Eucharist and which sets a premium on reverence, with a mixture of traditional and contemporary services and hymns. We hope that our church extends a f

riendly and warm welcome to all worshippers and visitors and those who celebrate the rites of passage of their families within our ancient walls. We aim to serve the whole community through a wide range of organizations, activities and events, which seek to include both families and all age groups. All Saints is a parish church in the Diocese of St. Albans and we are part of the worldwide Anglican Communion. The clergy team also covers St. James Church in Biddenham and we do share some joint services and activities with them. Our church is open to visitors every day from 9.30am until 5.30pm and there are opportunities for silent prayer and reflection. If you have any enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact one of the team or some other appropriate person. We look forward to meeting you when you follow up your visit to this web site with an actual visit to our church in person. Stephen Huckle

Last evening the Archdeacon's Visitation service was held in the charming church of St . Mark in Brickhill, where the venerable Dave Middlebrook admitted some 120 churchwardens.
It was a joyous occasion and
I had the honour and privilege of being admitted to the office of Churchwarden serving All Saints church in Kempston, along with my experienced hard working fellow Churchwarden. Our duties are of paramount importance to support and care for the church and clergy, promote the gospel and mission, and much more! Thank you to all those present supporting friends and all the members of St Mark's for the warm welcome and facilitating this holy event.

We really appreciate the unsung work done by members of all saints church in Kempston, and this was brought sharply into focus when chatting to Brian Garner about health and safety matters. To discover the church alarm had been activated at 03.00 hours. Brian had gone to investigate, to find all was well. , probably an owl 🦉 had been close to the cameras! Thank you Brian, and all those who provide unpaid voluntary support for our historic Church.

I have so much respect and affection for our loyal and hardworking campanologists at All Saints church in Kempston. It is wonderful to arrive for the Sunday service to be welcomed by the glorious chiming Bell's. Thank you. Appreciation also to our visiting organist, playing the Ascension hymns. Afterwards, exiting the holy and historic Church into sunshine and chatting with members of the congregation about our respective gardens. Oh happy day.

Today we celebrate The Day of Ascension. I shall be feasting and giving thanks.
In the bible according to Luke "Jesus leads his disciples out to Bethany, lifts his hands and blesses them before ascending".
This holy day is fourty days after Easter usually on a Thursday, though many churches celebrate the feast on a Sunday in order for people to participate. St. Paul's church in Bedford has a festival eucharist tonight at 7.30pm
