You know that person that just gets on your nerves?
Someone probably quickly comes to mind. Maybe it’s a person in your life that you have a difficult time getting along with… Or maybe, a close friend just gets under your skin and irritates you at times.
When we experience negative encounters with those who annoy us, we can be tempted to distance ourselves from them. In our selfish nature, it’s easier to spend time with those who think and act like us. But as children of God, we are called to live as a family, even when it’s hard.
Friend, we need each other. As members of the body of Christ, we are called to “bear with each other and forgive one another,”displaying Jesus’ love to one another. (Colossians 3:13)
Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
When we encourage each other, we help each other grow in our walk with the Lord.
Today, let’s make the choice to look past our annoyances and personality differences, and instead find ways to encourage others.
Take a minute to think of someone in your life who you can encourage. Maybe it’s your sister, friend, next-door neighbor or co-worker…. Whoever comes to mind! Right now, send that person a text lifting them up.
We’re cheering you on today, friend!
