St Andrew's Church has stood on the rise overlooking Bebington Village for over 900 years. From modest beginnings the building developed in stages as the local population grew, with major extensions built in the 14th and 19th centuries. Many influential people have connections with the church, from those who have shared the development of Bebington like Joseph Mayer, to national figures like C.S.
Lewis, who attended the church when visiting friends in the area. Today, the church continues its prime role of worship and offers three regular Christian services on a Sunday in both traditional and family-friendly styles, as well as serving the community by conducting weddings, baptisms, funerals and school services. Well, decay to structural roof timbers and internal damage has occurred due to rain water leakage caused by defective roof tiles and gutters. Minor repairs have controlled this, but the time has now come for major works to secure the building for future generations. Our aim is to ensure the church is open for present and future generations to experience and enjoy, help you to learn about the church's heritage, and continue our Christian mission and support the local community. We'd love for you to be involved, so keep up to date via this page.
