One of the best things we get to do as a church is welcome someone into the church family at their baptism. Whether you’re six weeks or six decades old, baptism is open to you and is the start of an amazing journey with God, and God’s family (the church.) This morning we welcomed Tadhg, and prayed for him as a community.

We had the pleasure of welcoming Bishop Dave, the Bishop of Buckingham, the Beaconsfield Open the Book team and members of all three Anglican churches in our town this morning at St Thomas’s for bacon rolls and our all-age worship!

Happy Easter! We worshipped the risen Jesus this morning. We laid our own sins and crosses by the Easter garden, and transformed the cross with our colourful prayers…and then the BIG egg hunt! What a wonderful Holy Week and Easter we’ve had here at St Thomas/The Dove Café! Thank you to all who got involved and especially those who decorated the building, hid eggs, and cleaned! 💕

Happy Easter! On Easter Eve as the sun began to set we made Easter gardens, lit the Easter candle from our fire (it was the first light that entered there church) shared communion and sung praise to Jesus who didn’t stay dead but ROSE AGAIN that first Easter! 💕✝️🙌 Then we used our fire to roast marshmallows and enjoy being together as a church family.

On Good Friday we journeyed through all of Holy Week in one hour! Jesus entered Jerusalem on a donkey, taught in the temple, shared his last supper and carried his cross. We carefully wrapped Jesus in a cloth and put him in the tomb in the Easter garden … we wait to see what is going to happen when we come back on Saturday (Easter Eve) at 6pm.

We had a lovely evening remembering Jesus’s last supper. We shared a meal, made prayer plates to lay before the Lord’s table for the needs of our communities and our world, washed our sins away in the font, shared in Holy Communion and prayed in the garden just like Jesus did the night before his crucifixion. ⛪️🍽️🥖🍷🙏🪴

We had a mini procession to imitate Jesus's entry into Jerusalem on the first Palm Sunday this morning, starting in the garden and ending in the church with our palm leaves, crosses and banner held high - and our faithful donkey! 🫏
