In the fifth chapter of ‘Being Disciples’, Rowan Williams explores ‘Faith in Society'. Looking back to some of the earlier chapters, he discusses looks at how being a Christian disciple impacts one's relationship with the rest of the world. He takes up the difficult balance of seeking to transform the world while also engaging with it in humility and an awareness of our own limitations. We are not, after all, God.

If you'd like to explore his ideas with us then join us in St Columba’s meeting room on Monday 8 June at 7pm to listen to the chapter or 7.30pm for just the discussion.

All are most welcome - please join us!

MONDAY STUDY GROUP - 1 JUNE - 7.00pm for 7.30

Holiness is the topic of the fourth chapter of Rowan Williams ‘Being Disciples. He argues that holiness is not measured by one's nearness to perfection rather it is about a willingness to be formed to God's purposes and to be transformed by the experience. Holiness, for ++Rowan, is the submission of one's will to that of God and experiencing divine grace.

To hear the chapter in audio come along on Monday 1 June at 7.00pm in the meeting room at St Columba’s. Discussion will follow at 7.30 after a break for tea & coffee.

All are welcome - please join us!
