*Lots of exciting things lined up for this year's fête on Saturday 11th July!*

It’s nearly time once again for our annual Batheaston Fete. Join us on Saturday, 11th July 12-4pm at the Batheaston New Village Hall and Church Field on School Lane for a wonderful day of community fun.

From traditional maypole dancing to rocket launching with the Bath Astronomers, there is something for everyone. Children can enjoy face painting, pet some Shetland ponies and even meet a friendly llama. If you are feeling competitive there is always the tug o’ war, skittles and this year, some axe throwing with the Scouts.

Come and enjoy the BBQ, bar, ice creams and homemade cakes and tea. There will be lots of plants to buy, books and bric-a-brac to browse and of course, delicious cream teas. The fabulous raffle has several star prizes this year including a Bath rugby shirt signed by the whole team, £100 cash, a 6 month pass for the Tollbridge and many more tempting prizes donated by generous local businesses. With thanks to our sponsor, Camella, we look forward to welcoming everyone for a fantastic village celebration. www.batheastonfete.weebly.com

Can you help? Could you donate? Would you like to support but can’t be there on the day? Here’s how…
If you’d like to volunteer on the day for an hour or so, email [email protected]

Donations of the following can be brought to St John’s Church during the day (just inside to the right):

- Paperback books of good quality
- Bric-a-brac and toys
- Full bottles for the bottle stall (anything from shampoo to lemonade)
- Can you bake? We’d love donations of cakes – can be dropped off at the hall on the morning of the fete.
- Are you a gardener with an abundance of plants to move on? Bring them to the field the evening before or the morning of and we will gladly take them off your hands.
- Can’t make the fete but would like to make a financial contribution? You can do so here: https://givealittle.co/c/batheastonvillagefete2026

Thank you!

As always, entry is free, but we will collect donations at the gate in support of UNICEF, while other proceeds from the fete will support the work of St John the Baptist Church, Batheaston with St Catherine. We will have some card readers available, but cash is appreciated where possible. Please also remember that as a space used by children, it is a dog-free zone, so please leave your four-legged friends at home.

This Sunday we'll be spending some time at Welcome Church thinking what First Impression St John's gives to visitors. Do we get our welcome right? Or do we confuse? How could we make simple changes that would make us more welcoming? Do come along and let us know what you think.

We'll be running Lunch next Sunday 21st June, at church (pay by donation, suggested minimum £5). Would you like to come? Might you even be able to help? Please let Sarah know, tel. 684649.

St John's is running Refreshments at the Craft Fair on Saturday 18th July. Could you come along to the New Village Hall and help out? Refreshment profits are going to St John's, so every sandwich helps. Again, please contact Sarah.

All welcome on Sunday at St John's at 10am and St Catherine's at 3pm
