The Willats Trust

The Willats Trust Provides grants to people working in the most deprived areas of England & Wales who offer practical and spiritual support to those in need.

Mr Willats' Charity appoints people, known as Guides, who offer both practical and spiritual support to those who need it, in the churches and charities in which they work. There are currently 58 Guides appointed across England and Wales managing all kinds of projects from ministering to the homeless and those caught in addictions to helping the poor and elderly.

What's Happening at The Willats Trust?👋

We've spent some time Reviewing and Reflecting upon our Strategic Priorities and Values, in order to yet again Re-Align and Discover the Vision Mr. Willats had for this Charity.

One of our Core Values is to support lay workers, appointed as Guides, to serve in the most deprived areas in the UK.

We Support Through Giving out Grants, Building Relationship with and Connecting our Guides with each other.

Our Guides & Their Stories🗣
This is what Scot McJohnston says about his role as one of The Willats Trust's Guides and Keystone Project Coordinator at the St Andrew's Church, Cullompton.💒

🙋‍♂️"My role is to help people who are living through some of the same things I have lived through, helping them practically, emotionally, and spiritually. My calling is to come alongside people who find themselves in the dust of life's traumas."

"Being appointed as a guide with The Willats Trust has been so affirming to me. There is support available and I feel valued. I've never experienced this with any other funders"

☝️The Willats Trust invest in individuals, supporting them not just financially, but through building relationship with each and every Guide we appoint.

We Support the Journey!👣

Did you know?🧐

When you're appointed as one of our Guides, part of your role is to submit a 6 Monthly Report with us.

The purpose of this Report is for the Guide
1) To Reflect on his/her own journey within the ministry,
2) To Share relevant resources with other guides
3) To Connect with us in sharing their joys & hardships, challenges and visions for the future.

We Give Personal Feedback on Every Report Submitted.

Through this process, we're changing, growing, widening our perspectives and have the opportunity of learning more and more about The Gospel in the most deprived areas of the UK.

We walk on Holy Ground, this we know.

Extremely Grateful and Humbled to be able to support lay workers, proclaiming and living the Greatest Story of All.

👩‍🎨Art is a Way of Expressing our Souls🧑‍🎨

This is a Picture drawn by a 7-Year Old girl, Who Went Through Various Traumatic Experiences.

When asked to explain what the picture says, she said: "This is a picture of my house and the crosses on it show that Jesus is there to look after me when I sleep"

This story was shared by one of our Families & Children's Workers.

Our Guides serving in this field of ministry are passionate about families and walking alongside them in their discovering of a life of faith in Jesus.🗣

Today is the Start of Lent.

We Call it Ash Wednesday.

Here, at The Willats Trust, We Recognise The Pain of The World, The Brokenness in & Around us.

It’s a Time for Prayer

We Are Completely Dependant on God.

It’s a Time for Reflection

Through the Cross We Are Saved. Jesus’ Love Knows No Boundaries.

Through His Resurrection We Are Alive.

Here, at The Willats, we are Deeply Aware of God’s Heart for the World.

We Thrive on Supporting Those with A Calling to Share This Remarkable Truth

🇺🇦A Blessing for Ukraine🇺🇦

God, the unthinkable has happened.
Swiftly, relentlessly,
by stealth and through open destruction,
the peace and beauty of the ordinary,
has been shattered in a day.
O God of justice and might,
We call to you to come and bring this suffering to an end.
Comfort these trembling hearts.
Shield the vulnerable.
Strengthen those with the resources and the resolve
to protect what they love
in the face of such overwhelming force.
Grant wisdom to the nations of our world, to our leaders, and to us,
to grasp the unfathomable,
to see evil in its true light,
and come against it unflinchingly.

Dear Ukraine,
though we shudder to watch what is happening
We will not look away.
