LET’S BEGIN WITH WONDER.

Have you ever found yourself captivated by light dancing through the trees? Felt life rushing through your veins as you stand beside crashing waves? Have you ever experienced an unexpected peace in the early morning birdsong?

Many of us have moments when the natural world leaves us with a sense of wonder, peace or mystery. We may not always have words for those experiences, but they often awaken questions that are deeply spiritual.

THIS IS WHERE CHURCH OF THE WILD BEGINS.

Christians have long believed that creation is one of the ways we come to know its Creator. Before there were church buildings, there were gardens, deserts, mountains and lakesides, and people found God. Jesus taught outdoors. He invited people to notice birds, seeds, trees and wildflowers, discovering that the world around us can become a window into the kingdom of God.

CHURCH OF THE WILD IS A DIFFERENT KIND OF CHURCH GATHERING...

It is a gathering for anyone who has ever sensed there might be more to this world than meets the eye.

It is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with the natural world, and become more attentive to the presence of God.

There are no long sermons and no expectation that you already know what you believe. Through simple Christian practices of stillness, reflection, wandering and conversation, we make space to notice what is so easily overlooked.

Whether you're exploring faith for the first time, returning after many years away, or simply curious to discover where wonder might lead, you're warmly welcome.

JOIN US THIS JULY FOR AN EVENING OF LIVE JAZZ IN THE BEAUTIFUL GARDENS OF ST LUKE’S CHURCH.

At St Luke’s, we feel incredibly fortunate to have beautiful gardens surrounding our church building, and we want the whole community to enjoy them.

This summer, we're pleased to announce our next free community event: Jazz in the Gardens.

Bring a picnic and your favourite drink, then settle in for a summer evening of live music and good company. Invite your friends, meet your neighbours, and enjoy the best of the season together.

We're delighted to be joined by The Jazzford Collective, a local band who will be performing two 45-minute sets over the course of the evening. The music begins at 7:30pm, but you're welcome to arrive earlier, find a spot, and make yourself comfortable. Feel free to bring a chair or picnic blanket.

This is a relaxed, family-friendly event, and no booking is required.

Should this great British summer have other plans (rain), the music, picnic, and party will move indoors.

Join us this Saturday for our annual Slip & Slide! We would love to see you there for one of the wettest events on the church calendar (any guesses on what the others are?).

Defibrillator and Bleed Kit @ St Luke’s Church Centre

How is the equipment accessed?

The bleed kit is in an unlocked cabinet and can be easily accessed in an emergency.

The defibrillator is in a locked cabinet requiring a code. The code is available on the notice board in the Church Office or on the board within the Church Centre Kitchen but is obtainable by anybody without access to these sites by following the instructions on the cabinet - essentially phoning 999.

What next?

Once 999 has been called, they will talk you through what to do next. They will advise on CPR and how to use the defibrillator. As the defibrillator is fully automatic it will guide users through the process advising on how to use the equipment safely.

Can anybody use the equipment?

The bleed kit is relatively simple to use – please watch the videos on the link – but the emergency services will talk it through with the person making the emergency call, requesting an ambulance.

The defibrillator is fully automatic and is designed to be used by both trained and untrained personnel and itself issues audible instructions – but do look at the training video on the attached link.

It must be the start of summer if Pimms & Hymns is coming up! If you don’t know what this is, let me share a little about the joys of this event. We will be gathering on Sunday 7th June from 5.30pm-8pm in the church, where we will enjoy drinking Pimms together. But the real heart of the event is that we get to hear from people as they share stories from their lives, experiences that have stirred their hearts and directed their lives and how this journey has connected them to a specific song. Come for the Hymns or come for the Pimms, and either way, leave with the stories. This is not one to be missed, and everyone is welcome!
