The Great Big Green Week is the UK’s biggest celebration of community action to tackle climate change and protect nature.

Thousands of events are hosted across the UK, that demonstrate the brilliant action communities are taking to tackle climate change and restore nature.

The hive is pleased to announce we are taking part in THE BIG GREEN WEEK!

Buzz and Bloom toddler group will be coming together for Good as we learn all about nature and how we can make a change.

On: THURSDAY 11th JUNE 2026
9:30-11:00am

Come and join us, as we teach little hands how to care for nature.

Hi everyone,

Some of you may have seen my many, many posts over the past year about our gardening club and the development of our community garden.
Everyone has worked incredibly hard to transform the space into somewhere beautiful that everyone can enjoy.

We're now ALMOST at the stage where it's ready, and we're excited to announce that we'll be holding a Community Garden Open Day & Fun Day on Saturday 4th July from 10am–3pm to celebrate the opening of The Hive Community Garden!

The day will be packed with activities, opportunities to plant your own seeds and bulbs, garden-themed crafts, refreshments, community planting projects, and lots of family-friendly fun, all COMPLETELY FREE!

But we need your help to make it extra special!

🍰 Cake Donations Needed, If you enjoy baking or would like to donate cakes, traybakes, biscuits, or sweet treats we'd be incredibly grateful.

🌱 Seeds & Bulbs Needed We're looking for donations of flower, herb, vegetable, and fruit seeds, as well as bulbs, for our planting activities. Visitors will be able to help plant in the community garden and take some seeds home to grow themselves.

🪨 Pebbles for Pebble Painting We're hoping to run a pebble painting activity for children and families. If you have any smooth pebbles or stones you could donate, we'd love to hear from you.

🎵 Local Talent & Entertainment Are you a singer, musician, performer, or entertainer? We'd love to showcase local talent throughout the day and create a fun, welcoming atmosphere for everyone attending. If you'd be interested in performing, please get in touch.

🙋 Volunteers Welcome If you'd like to help on the day with setting up, running activities, serving refreshments, or simply lending a hand, we'd love to have you involved.

This garden has been created for the community, and we'd love the community to be part of its opening.
Every donation, every volunteer, and every bit of support will help make the day a success.

Join us tomorrow morning 9:30am

🌸 Buzz & Bloom Toddler Group is Back This Week! 🌸

Join us on Thursday 4th June, from 9:30am - 11:00am, for a fun-filled morning of play, friendship, and community!

We are excited to announce that we will now be offering BREAKFAST for both adults and children during our sessions. We'll have:

🍞 Toast
🥞 Crumpets
🧃 Juice
☕ Tea & Coffee

There is no extra charge for breakfast, although donations are always welcome if you are in a position to contribute.

🍎 Our usual snack time will still take place at 10:15am.

🌞 Weather dependent, our Garden will be open.

We can't wait to welcome you all back for another wonderful session. Whether you're a regular or joining us for the first time, we'd love to see you there!

🌱 Can You Help the Hive Garden Project? 🌱

We're working hard to transform the Hive Garden into a welcoming community space that will be open for everyone to enjoy, a place for relaxation, friendship, togetherness, and support.

We would love to create: A picnic-style table and benches where people can sit together to eat, drink, and socialise. 💚
A welcoming bench or seating area where visitors can relax, chat, and find support when they need it.

Do you have any timber, pallets, outdoor furniture, building materials, or unfinished upcycling projects gathering dust that you would be willing to donate?

Perhaps you're a keen DIY enthusiast who would like to help create something special for the community.

Every donation, no matter how small, will help us build a space that brings people together and makes a positive difference in our community.
