Syncretism: The attempt to assimilate differing or opposite doctrines and practices, especially between philosophical and religious systems, resulting in a new system altogether in which the fundamental structure and tenets of each have been changed. Syncretism of the gospel occurs when its essential character is confused with elements from the culture. Israelites incorporated lot of foreign religious aspects to YAHWISM. The Book of Amos condemned syncretism with an imagery of adultery.
If someone asked me what the most important day of my life is, I would confidently say Good Friday, as it determines my eternity. However, I don’t celebrate it annually, as neither the disciples of our Lord nor the early first-century believers observed it.
