Sometimes God asks us to step outside our comfort zones.

In Chapel this Sunday we reflected on Jesus sending out His disciples to share hope, show kindness and tell others about God’s love.

The disciples weren’t always comfortable. They had fears and doubts just like we do. Yet they trusted Jesus and went anyway.

The challenge remains for us today:

Will we stay where it’s comfortable, or will we step out in faith when God calls?

❤️ “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.”

Join us in prayer a Pride Month, shared by Pam Gold, Coordinator of the Solidarity Circle for LGBT+

Loving God we thank you for the richness of Diversity which you have created.
As we go through the month of June, when the LGBTQ+ community celebrate Pride, we ask of you:
Teach us the real meaning of 'All are welcome' where all are fully and richly included in every aspect of our Christian Lives.
Reach out to those who do not know you yet but are seeking.
Work on the hearts of those who cannot accept us, that they may have a change of heart and mandate a willingness to be inclusive.
We thank you God for the love you give and we trust that even now hearts are being touched by the power of your Holy Spirit.

Faith in action isn’t just what happens in church. It’s what happens when we serve our community.

Today our church stepped outside its walls and into the heart of our village for Better Barrow’s fabulous Barrows barrows event.

As Barrow’s Wheelbarrow Weekend brought people together through beautifully decorated barrows, open gardens, conversation, laughter, and community spirit, we were delighted to serve strawberries and cream, scones, tea and coffee to friends old and new.

In church this morning we reflected on God’s call to Abraham to step out in faith and become a blessing to others, and on Jesus’ reminder that He came not for those who think they have it all together, but for ordinary people who need His love, grace and friendship.

Jesus often met people around a table, sharing food, conversation and kindness. Today, in our own small way, that’s what we sought to do.

Church isn’t just what happens on a Sunday morning. It’s people serving people, welcoming strangers, building community and sharing God’s love in practical ways.

What a joy it was to see our village out in force, celebrating together.

“Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. For I have come not to call the righteous, but sinners.” Matthew 9:12-13

✨ What is Methodism? ✨

If you’ve ever wondered what makes a Methodist church different, here’s a simple explanation.

Methodism began with an Anglican priest called John Wesley in the 1700s. Wesley was a devoted Christian who prayed, studied the Bible, and worked tirelessly for God. Yet he still felt something was missing.

One evening, while listening to a reading from the Book of Romans, he experienced a deep assurance that God’s love and forgiveness were for him personally. He later described his heart as being “strangely warmed.”

That experience shaped the Methodist movement and its simple message:

❤️ You don’t have to earn God’s love.
❤️ God’s grace is available to everyone.
❤️ Faith is about a relationship with Jesus, not just religious activity.
❤️ Christianity should be lived out through love, compassion, justice, and service to others.

Methodists believe that no one is beyond God’s reach and that faith should make a difference in both our personal lives and our communities.

You don’t need to have all the answers.
You don’t need to be perfect.
You don’t even need to be sure what you believe yet.
