š§ Need a little help with those small but important jobs around the house?
Westmorland & Furness Councilās Handy Person Scheme offers practical support for older and vulnerable residents who are unable to carry out essential household tasks themselves and donāt have anyone available to help. Eligible households can access the service up to six times a year, with labour provided free of charge (you only pay for any materials needed). (westmorlandandfurness.gov.ukā ļæ¼)
The scheme can help with jobs such as:

Fitting grab rails and handrails
ā
Changing light bulbs
ā
Installing key safes and security locks
ā
Putting up shelves, curtains or blinds
ā
Minor plumbing repairs
ā
Fixing trip hazards and loose carpets
The service is available to residents aged 65+, people with disabilities, those recently discharged from hospital, individuals at risk of falls, and other vulnerable residents across Westmorland and Furness.
