Pressure Points

This week's Pressure Point was: Money:

🛍️ The Pressure : We chatted about how ads and social media try to convince us we need more stuff to be happy or fit in.

📖 1 Timothy 6:6–10 : We learned that money isn't evil, but the love of money is a trap if we put it equal to or above God in our hearts!
True gain is godliness with contentment!

🌳 Zacchaeus (Luke 19:1–10) : We saw how meeting Jesus completely transformed Zacchaeus's heart—turning him from someone who hoarded money into someone who was wildly generous.

✨ Fresh Start (1 John 2:1–2) : We remembered that whenever we struggle with comparison or greed and fall short, Jesus is our Advocate who forgives us and clears the slate.

📖 You can read all the scriptures we looked at together here: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+Timothy+6%3A6-10%2C+Luke+19%3A1-10%2C+1+John+2%3A1-2&version=NIV

Do you think money buys happiness? 🧐

A great finale to our summer ALL-INs. A great contribution by the Open the Book team telling the story of the Good Samaritan. No congregational members were hurt during the service despite the vicar playing a robber and enacting the attack of the jewish traveller in the story, rather enthusiasitically in my opinion!
