Coming up on Saturday 5th September is our benefice churches walk.

Join us for a friendly walk between the 4 local benefice churches, starting at Hoylandswaine at 9am, walking to Cawthorne, Silkstone and finally ending in Dodworth.

You can join in the whole walk, just one of the legs or if you can’t do the walk why not drop in on one of the churches for a drink and refreshments. Expected timings are on the poster attached.

UPDATE: The Parish Church of St John the Baptist, Dodworth.

Following further surveys regarding the necessary roof repairs, the costs are now in excess of £250,000. The Parochial Church Council have made the difficult decision to close the Church building permanently due to the excessive costs.
After a recent meeting with the diocesan representative we have been advised that the next stage in this process is to hold a public consultation meeting.
The meeting will take place on Wednesday 12th August 2026 at 7pm in Dodworth Green Road Methodist Church.
This is an open meeting and everyone is welcome to attend.
