Our beautiful church is open today 10-2 with images of the Stations of the cross.

A calm and peaceful space to sit and reflect on the story, your journey or simply take the time to be still and gather your thoughts. All are welcome.

Happy Easter! In March we joyously celebrated Mothering Sunday, alongside our Lent reflections on our need for God’s loving salvation as we approach Easter. Holy Week begins with Palm Sunday on 29th March and special services are then held each evening that week in the benefice, including Compline, Stations of the Cross, Maundy Thursday Communion with Foot Washing, Good Friday reflections and the dramatic Great Easter Vigil, before arriving at our joyful Easter Day family services on 5th April! Timings and locations for all these can be found on our Easter Card (delivered last month, with spare copies available in St Michael’s church). All are welcome to experience the Easter story in a deeper way through these services and a warm welcome awaits for everyone across all our churches in the benefice!

On Sunday 26th April, we have a very special celebration at Barford St Michael’s Church, as Bishop Gavin comes to lead a Confirmation service, where candidates from here and across our deanery will come forward to confirm their Christian faith and begin receiving Holy Communion. What a joyful Easter season awaits!

God bless, Revd Nick

Happy Mothering Sunday from Barford Churches. We give thanks for all in our lives who care for us. In Luke 13:34 Jesus likens God’s love to that of a mother hen, who gathers her chicks under the protection of her wing, keeping them safe, showing them they are loved. That nurturing love encourages us to grow in so many ways. Our families, in what ever form, provide for us, allow us space to grow in love and kindness. Gods’s love gives us exactly that allowing us to grow spiritually in faith.

What a wonderful day. Thank you so much to everyone who supported our new venture. Amazing stall holders, bit of Mariah Carey and George Michael on the organ. Thank you to Jan, Kathryn, Cubby, Anne who provided cake. Guy, Sue and Gregg for helping set up, take down and run lucky dip and children’s crafts. Thelma and Sue for running a stall for church - fabulous knitted teddy bears and gnomes. Thankyou to Theo and Sophie for their patience. Thank you to the village Hall for the tables. Good luck to Ella Warner in her Marathon run next year. We hope you make your fundraising target. Thank you to Amalie for helping with teas and most importantly our visitors who made the day such a success. £341.50 made. Not too shabby! Anne Perry, you are a star.
Merry Christmas everyone.
