Bangor Catholic Chaplaincy Catholic oasis for Bangor University students and staff. The Chaplaincy is right in the heart of the University. Come and join us for one of our regular events.

Advertised here. Catholic oasis for Bangor University students & staff. Our main event is held on Wednesdays but we also have events through the week Sun - Weds. We have events on the following days (IN TERM):
Monday
5.15 pm - Evening Prayer (Vespers) and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament

Tuesday
1pm - Lunchtime Prayer with Soup & Sandwich

WEDNESDAY
6:30 - 7:30PM - MASS in the Chaplaincy Chape

l. Come and celebrate the Eucharist together in the intimacy of the Chaplaincy’s own Chapel
7:30 - 10pm - Cathsoc Discussion/ Talk/ Social with a simple meal (Chaplaincy). Fun and friendship, Faith and Reason, Questions and answers - learning about and sharing the joys of being Catholic with others
10pm - Night Prayer (Compline)


Sunday
7pm, Film from 7:45pm - Film night with cheese and wine. Whether you want to watch the week's movie or just sit and chat over some cheese and wine, what better way to relax and prepare for another hectic week ahead?

Welcome to the Bangor Catholic Chaplaincy and CathSoc page. I'm Ray the Catholic Chaplain, because of Covid not a lot has been appearing for a little while - BUT we're about to start a new academic year where, although things are not back to normal a lot more 'in person' stuff can happen. I'll let Melissa (President of CathSoc) tell you more - "Hi we are Bangor University’s Catholic society. Our society values are based off fun, faith, and friendship. After over a year of seeing each other through a screen we are excited to be returning to meetings in person, with a Student Mass at 7pm on a Monday night in St James and Our Lady’s Church (opposite Morrisons) from 27 Sept. This Mass will be followed by a CathSoc social - whether that be a quiz, a movie night, or a discussion about faith. We will also be having picnic walks every Sunday in the beautiful Welsh weather and there will be guest speakers online every few weeks with some very interesting topics. We are very excited to see both new and existing students whether you are Catholic or just open to learning about faith you are all very welcome. Look forward to seeing everyone on Monday 27th at 7pm" – Melissa (CathSoc President).
