St Andrew's Presbyterian Church

St Andrew's Presbyterian Church Gathering every Sunday at 11am. We meet together every Sunday morning at 11am and throughout the week. You're really welcome any time - we'd love to see you.

We’re a friendly, informal and enthusiastic community of people who are constantly learning what it means to love God passionately, love others unconditionally, and share the eternal hope of Jesus with everyone we meet! At St Andrew’s Presbyterian Church you’ll discover a group of ordinary people from different backgrounds, life experiences and ages, who have one thing in common – a love for God,

and a desire to share this love with others. We don’t pretend to have life sorted – but many of us have been and are continuing to be changed by the love of Jesus, and are seeking to live as His disciples in the world. There’s something for everyone, no matter what age or background. If you'd like to find out more or would like to speak with someone about the church family or what it means to follow Jesus, please get in touch with the Minister, Mark Johnston (M: 07736 769 744; E: [email protected]).

A PRAYER FOR TODAY...

'When I said, 'My foot is slipping,' your unfailing love, LORD, supported me.
When anxiety was great within me, your consolation brought me joy.'
Psalm 94:18-19

God of Peace,
I offer You my worries. I bring You my brokenness and I surrender my striving. As I rest in Your presence, I receive Your peace.
Lord, whatever is making me fearful or anxious today, let me know that You are near.

Lord, I pray too for someone whose situation is difficult right now, someone who is experiencing debilitating fear and anxiety. Lord, may they experience You today as the God of Peace.

Lord, sometimes I get anxious, but today I yield myself to the nearness of Your presence. Letting go of my desperate need to understand everything first, I put my trust in You, that You will guard my fragile heart.

I pray these things in Jesus' name. Amen.*

As we journey into today, here's a song that reminds us that in the depths of our struggles, we can always come to Jesus, who promises help us, sustain us and keep us.

We’d love you to join with us this Sunday at 11am as we worship God together.
We'll be continuing our teaching series in the Book of Acts - looking at the early Church, dependent on the Holy Spirit, seeking to carry the Good News of Jesus into a hostile world, with great courage and conviction. We'll be looking at the Good News of Jesus that Peter shared with the crowds who were listening, and we'll be asking ourselves the question that the crowds asked: "What shall we do with Jesus?" How should we respond to Him?
We'll be chatting with our children about Jesus' miraculous healing of the 10 lepers. We'll be welcoming some new members into the life of the church family, and we'll have the joy of celebrating Communion together, as we remember and give thanks for all that Jesus has done for us through His death and resurrection. Don't forget our prayer gathering at 10:30am in Room 1, which everyone is very welcome to come along to, before the Worship gathering at 11am.
Little Wonders (for babies aged 0-1), Praise & Play (for toddlers aged 2-3), Kids 4 Jesus (for Pre and Primary School Children) and Bible Class (for Year 8-12 young people) will be happening during the second half of the service. We’ll also enjoy tea and coffee in the Welcome Centre afterwards!
At 6:30pm we'll be gathering for our monthly Prayer & Divine Healing Gathering - an opportunity to pray for each other, for the church family, the local community and wider world, and also to pray for those who are sick at this time. Do come along if you're able. We'd love to welcome you!
We look forward to being together this Sunday!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

“When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit” Acts 2:1-4

Heavenly Father, as we prepare our hearts for worship today and as we learn more about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the disciples at Pentecost, thank You for the multiple ways Your Spirit works in our lives.

It was Your Spirit who showed us the depth of our need, convinced us that Jesus is a grace-full Saviour, and gave us faith to trust Him for our salvation. We are grateful forever, Father.

By the Spirit, You sealed us forever as Your cherished children. We’ll never be unborn-again, disowned, or orphaned from You. The Spirit is the firstfruits of our final redemption—the guarantee that one Day we’ll be completely like Jesus. Father, may You grow a bumper crop of the Spirit’s fruit in our lives as we long for that Day.

The Spirit is the engagement ring wrapped around our hearts—the sign and security of our marriage to Jesus. Nothing will ever separate us from the love of Jesus. Nothing will keep us from the true and eternal Royal Wedding.

By the Spirit, You constantly declare us to be Your beloved children—guiltless and condemnation free. Turn up the volume, Father. The Spirit ceaselessly prays inside of us what we’d pray for ourselves if we knew what the Spirit knows. By the Spirit, You gifted us for service, empower us for mission, and re-fire our first love for Jesus.

Father, we heed afresh Your command to be filled with the Spirit. We gladly and expectantly yield. Come, Holy Spirit, come, and fill us to overflowing—to the praise of our God and for the blessing of our neighbours. We pray all these things in the saving Name of Jesus! Amen.*

(* A prayer from Pastor Scotty Smith, The Gospel Coalition)

A SONG FOR TODAY: PRAISE THE LORD!
As we reflect on all that Jesus has done for us, through His death and resurrection, and by the power of the Holy Spirit, our hearts are drawn to praise Him. Here's a song that we'll be teaching our children during worship today in St Andrew's, that encourages us to praise the Lord!

I won't be quiet, my GOD is ALIVE. How could I quiet it inside ?? PRAIIIIIISE THE LORD !!!Don't forget to like👍, comment💬 and share😉God bless you 🙌✨ ...
