One of our church family, Carol Green, is fundraising for the excellent work of Autism NI by doing an abseil of the Europa building (around 51 metres tall) in Belfast on Sun 4 October! In her own words, Carol says,
"I support Autism NI because I want to make a difference, especially in recognition, diagnosis, support and education for autistic girls. My hope is that one day no-one will have to grow up as I did - confused, misunderstood and isolated - when autism in girls and women went entirely unrecognised.
I also want to raise more awareness of autism in adults generally, and to support continued education in society, so that our everyday struggles are better understood and more readily accepted, no matter how well we may have learned to hide or to bear them.
Thank you so much for contributing to this cause that means so much to me, and could help make a life changing difference, especially to as-yet undiagnosed autistic girls and women.
It will be worth tipping myself over the edge of this amazing building if it helps just one girl discover who she is and how she can be herself and be happy in a world full of round holes in which she always feels like the square peg."
What a wonderful vision! We would love to support her by helping her raise loads for this excellent cause! Please share with others...
I’m autistic, and I’m raising money to benefit AUTISM NI, so on Sunday October 4th … Carol Green needs your support for Europa building abseil for Autism NI
