What is the church?

Is it a building? A Sunday gathering? A community? Something more?

This Sunday we begin a new series at St Paul’s Warwick Road on the Church - exploring what the Bible means when it talks about the church, who we are as God’s people, and the community God is calling us to be together .

Come and join us!

Elijah was exhausted. He’d had enough. He ran away, hid in a cave and wanted to give up.

But God met him there — not in the wind, earthquake or fire, but in a gentle whisper.

Sometimes we expect God to speak through the big, dramatic moments. But sometimes He meets us in the quiet, reminds us that we’re not alone, and gives us what we need to keep going.

If you’re tired, fed up or wondering whether you can keep going, perhaps Elijah’s story is a reminder: **God hasn’t left you.**

“And after the fire came a gentle whisper.”

What’s been the best thing about your week?

Whatever it is, Sunday is a chance to stop and give thanks, to worship, to hear from God and to spend time with other people.

Whether you’ve had a great week, a rubbish one, or something in between — come and join us this Sunday. We’d love to see you.

Church Family Prayer

There’s no church prayer meeting in August, but why not make some time to pray with friends or as a family over the summer?

Our next Prayer Meeting will be Wednesday 30th September. We’d love to see you there as we come together to pray for our church, our community and God’s work among us.

A Thought from Sunday at Warwick Road

Faithfulness doesn’t mean we aren’t afraid.

Obadiah was afraid. He knew that if he told Ahab where Elijah was and Elijah disappeared, Ahab could kill him. And yet, he went anyway.
Obadiah reminds us that courage isn’t the absence of fear—it’s choosing to obey God even when we are afraid.

Faithful obedience may sometimes feel frightening. But we can trust God and take the next step.

1 Kings 18:1–16
