A whopping total raised! Many thanks to all 👏🏻 🥳 🚁

ANNACLONE CHURCH presentation to Air Ambulance NI - on Saturday 7th August 2021, Annaclone Parish Church members, along with family and friends took on the mammoth challenge “Teddies 10 mile Step-Out” as they walked 10 miles to raise funds for the place of worship and the charity, Air Ambulance NI.

The route was the Scarva Towpath beginning at the Visitors Centre and kids were also invited along and to bring their teddies.

A great crowd gathered on the morning, ready for the challenge with the sun shinning and the weather on their side!

The Parish Church have been overwhelmed by donations near and far and they would like to thank all those assisted in anyway, to David in Tesco for his generous refreshments, all who donated and all their walkers who gathered up sponsorship for the event, with a special mention to James and his customers for raising the fantastic amount of £1,015.00.

For the second year running, the Church have chosen Air Ambulance NI as their charity partner, as this is an incredible service in the rural community, in which the Church is set.

Air Ambulance NI, in partnership with the Northern Ireland Ambulance (NIAS), provides the Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for the region. Serious or life-threatening situations can happen to anyone at anytime and on average, every single day in Northern Ireland, one individual finds themselves in desperate need of the Air Ambulance.

What is not widely known is that AANI is a Charity. Each day costs in the region of £5,500 and £2m each year is needed to keep the service operational.

The final total raised overall through sponsorship and online giving was a whopping £6,003.00. The proceeds were split equally and £3,000.00 has now been handed over to Air Ambulance NI by Church representatives and those that took part in the walk.

The Church would like to thank each and every person that made this happen and for the tremendous community spirit

TEDDIES 10 MILE STEP-OUT

Annaclone Parish Church want to give back and say thanks to the medical profession, as well as raising much needed funds for the upkeep and maintenance of the local Church of Ireland, set in the quaint village of Annaclone, County Down.

Instead of the cycle this year, on Saturday 7th August 2021, the Church are inviting you and your family to join them for their “Teddies 10 mile Step-Out” as they walk 10 miles to raise funds for the place of worship with a proportion of funds raised to be given to Air Ambulance NI.

The route will be the Scarva Towpath beginning at the Visitors Centre and will begin at 11.00am and everyone is welcome along and bring your teddy!

Saturday 18th July 2020 saw volunteers associated with Christ Church Annaclone cycle 20 miles on tandem cycles to raise funds for the place of worship with a proportion of funds raised to be given to Air Ambulance NI. The route was the Newry Canal Way. This cycle route from the Bann Bridge in Portadown to the Town Hall in Newry was a 20 mile trip on part of route 9 of the National Cycle Network. The route followed the towpath on the western bank of the Newry Canal.

📢🎉The Parish Church have been totally overwhelmed by the donations from the public both online and in person and are delighted to announce that the final total raised from the event was £3,060.00. 🚲 💰

Last week, representatives presented Air Ambulance NI with a cheque in the amount of £1,500.00, being half of the proceeds.

The Church would like to thank everyone that donated to this worthy cause and also all the businesses who allowed collection boxes to be placed in their premises in the lead up to the event.

As the Air Ambulance is so important, especially in the rural community, we hope that this event is something we can build on in the future.

So our team finished their 20 mile tandem cycle today & all survived!

......so tomorrow is tandem day! We can’t wait to get out there & raise vital funds for Air Ambulance NI, a fantastic service which is for all as well as fundraising for the upkeep & maintenance of our beautiful Church building.
