Friends of St Aidan's Church, Bamburgh A Page for all friends of St Aidan's Church Bamburgh The present structure dates from the end of the 12th century.

A place of worship was founded on this site in 635 by Aidan (no trace of this wooden church is to found other than the beam in the Baptistry which has been miraculously preserved, however the site of Aidan's death is marked by a shrine within the present church. A squint, a fine reredos, and a memorial to the Victorian heroine are amongst some of the many treasures in this delightful parish church

Hark! A message from Revd Paul Knox…

An announcement was made yesterday that after almost 4 marvellous years in Bamburgh, Belford and Lucker, I have been appointed as the next Vicar of the Cheviot Benefice - Doddington, Ilderton, Kirknewton and Wooler!

My last Sunday in Bamburgh, Belford and Lucker will be the 5th April - Easter Day, with my installation and licensing as Vicar of the Cheviot Benefice on Tuesday the 5th May.
