Ballyronan District LOL No 7 Ballyronan District Orange Lodge is a district grouping of the Orange Lodges is South Londonderry. W The Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland was established in 1798.

The Orange Order is a Protestant / Reformed Christian fraternity organised into Private lodges, District lodges (comprised of local private lodges), County lodges (comprised of district lodges) and Grand Lodge. We are a Protestant fraternity with members throughout the world. Autonomous Grand Lodges are found in Scotland, England, the United States of America, West Africa, Canada, Australia and N

ew Zealand. Our name comes from William III, Prince of Orange, and is kept because his victory over despotic power laid the foundation for the evolution of Constitutional Democracy in the British Isles. Support for William of Orange in the British Isles led to the formation of Orange Societies to commemorate his victory at the Battle of the Boyne in July 1690, but the largest and longest lasting groups were the Boyne Societies in Ireland. In 1795, following the culmination of attacks on Protestants in County Armagh at the Battle of the Diamond, in which Protestants routed those who had attacked them and attempted to burn properties, it was decided to form an organisation which would protect Protestants. This body, drawing on existing Orange Clubs in the neighbourhood, was named the Loyal Orange Institution. In modern times the Loyal Orange Institution continues to function, with thousands of members in Ireland many others across the world. Today defending Protestantism is not so literal as it was in 1795, but it requires us to take a stand for truth in an age of secularism and in order to defend our culture and traditions. On behalf of Ballymaquiggan LOL 292, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who purchased a ticket for our Winter Fuel Raffle. Your support is greatly appreciated.

The winners will be selected using a spinning wheel, with three names drawn at random, one at a time, for the three available prizes.

• First draw: First prize – a trailer of logs and two bags of coal
• Second draw: Second prize – a trailer of logs
• Third draw: Third prize – two bags of coal

After each draw, the winner’s name will be removed from the wheel before the next selection is made.

A huge thank you from the Worshipful District Master, Officers, and Brethren of Ballyronan District LOL No. 7 to everyone who came along to our variety concert on Friday night! 🎶

We really appreciate the fantastic performances from the Eden Accordion Group, Tullylagan Pipe Band, Ballyneal Accordion Band, Lisnamorrow Flute Band, Sam Strain and not forgetting the amazing girls from the Sollus Dancing Organisation.

Big thanks as well to Mervyn Walker, Victor Brownlow, and Jackie Carson for all their help and support.

It’s fair to say everyone had a brilliant night — plenty of great music, laughter, and community spirit all round!
