Thank you to everyone who attended our AGM yesterday.

It was great to see such a good turn out and we had some lovely feedback.

** We have spaces for this group. Suitable for girls aged 12 - 16. Empowered is a targeted group with activities, topics, crafts, guest speakers & trips with the aim to Empower our young women & learn new skills **

Let's get Rossendale Water Safe!

Please share and let's keep the Valleys kids safe.

After the number of deaths recently involving young people attempting to keep cool in reservoirs, Quarries and lakes, we want to do our bit by offering advice for young people and even parents in hope of preventing further tragic accidents.

Educate the kids. Together we just may save a life, and a family from going through the anguish so many others unfortunately have this half term.

Our thoughts are with them all.

With temperatures reaching 31°C in parts of Lancashire, some of us may think to head to the water to cool off. But remember, water can be much colder than you think - even on hot days.

Cold water can be deadly, even if you're a strong swimmer. It can cause cold-water shock, which can take your breath away and overwhelm your body within minutes.

In Case of Emergency:
If you see someone in trouble, call 999 and ask for the Coastguard (sea) or Fire Service (inland). Never attempt a rescue yourself.

If You Get Into Difficulty, Remember to Float to Live. Here's how:
­­• Tilt your head back.
­­• Focus on calming yourself and regulating your breath.
­­• Spread your arms and legs.
­­• Once your breathing is under control, call for help or swim to safety if possible.
