Sorry I haven't posted for a while - it's been a busy time, what with retreats and a bit of illness. Anyway, tomorrow night is poetry night at Ayr Triratna. I'm going to be reading something from Maitreyabandhu's book Yarn. I wonder what other favourite poems we'll hear?

After our wee covid pause last week, we're chomping at the bit to get started on the Noble Eightfold Path. This is one of the first teachings of the Lord Buddha after his Enlightenment and, if you're scholarly, can be found in the Mahācattārīsaka Sutta (in the Pali Cannon). If suttas aren't your bag, just read week one of your GBC Noble Eightfold Path course document and we'll see you tomorrow night.

Last Tuesday Vimalanandi led us into a wonderful body scan and then onto the Metta Bhavana, followed by a talk by Gunasiddhi about the Individual and the Spiritual Community, I think we all so appreciated them travelling from Glasgow to be with us. Here's the Triratna Refuge Tree. Packet of sweeties to anyone who can name everyone on it! So, last Tuesday, we finished the Wheel of Life - it was a a big journey, going round in circles but we're all working hard to stay just a little while in that all important "gap". This Tuesday coming we're having visitors - Gunasiddhi and Vimalanadani are coming down from Glasgow. They'll lead us in meditation and give a talk. I'm so looking forward to welcoming them to our Ayr Sangha.

Last night we heard about the Five Jinas so I thought I'd post a picture today of their female counterparts, the Five Wisdoms. I think it would be great to have some future talks on the Wisdoms or maybe a puja or two? Next week we said we'd review how the teachings on the Wheel of Life has impacted on our own lives. Look forward to it.

Here's a picture of Lord Buddha sitting under the Bodhi Tree after his Enlightenment. He's being attacked by Mara and his hoards but he's imperturbable. We loved this one at our meeting last night when we studied at the Spiral Path.
