At Trafalgar Square, I gathered with others who saw the injustice in how Prof Jason Arday was treated.
Tonight we gather to say no to racism in Britain.
We gather to comfort each other and Jason's family.
I join these folk as a servant of Jesus Christ
I came as a black man, one of many tolerated by many in Britain.
Today I came in great sorrow, risking it all to stand for justice.
Today I came knowing that today it is Jason, tomorrow it might be me.
At Trafalgar Sq I stand to say 'this is unfair'
As a priest, to the Bishop I am accountable.
To parliament the PM is accountable.
To whom is the British press accountable?
To whom are those who think a black person is beneath them accountable?
Today I stand here, reminded of George Floyd.
Jason struggled to breathe yet on his neck their boots rested until...
The man died.
May God rest Jason!
May God heal Britain!!
Jesus, Lord, come quickly.
