Purley Chase Centre is a retreat centre and event venue set in the beautiful North Warwickshire countryside. Originally a Victorian gentleman’s residence, Purley has been greatly extended to offer comfortable en suite and dormitory accommodation. Purley offers a range of short courses including prayer retreats, Bible study, arts and crafts, sacred dance, and singing within a relaxed environment. W

e also offer Summer Camps for children and teenagers and host Summer Schools for young people who travel to Purley from around the world. Purley is owned by The General Conference of the New Church whose faith is rooted in an enlightened and balanced approach to Christ-centred spirituality, aided by insights found in the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg. We validate all faiths and welcome people of all religions and none. In addition to an open spiritual approach, our hospitality, delicious home-cooked food and a warm welcome is at the heart of what Purley is about.

Morning!
I hope everyone is keeping safe and managing to enjoy the weather. Purley is continuing to restrict the number of guests allowed at the centre to safeguard both staff and guests. With this in mind, the maximum numbers for the rest of the year are as follows:

September 32
October 36
November 40
December 44

This will change of course, if we have new government guidance and restrictions.

We have been inundated with bookings for the 13-20 Summer Camp running from 1st August and have now hit our limit of 30 people and are taking no further bookings.
Events are now starting to book up quickly and we will continue to have some restrictions in place from the 19th to safe guard staff and visitors and make sure COVID does not shut Purley again. If you wish to attend any of our up coming events I suggest you book soon to avoid disappointment.

Morning Everyone!
With the welcomed news last night, we will be re-opening on Monday (17th) for events with social distancing in place. Due to the capacity restrictions, we will not be able to accommodate those just popping in for a drink until Monday 31st May at the usual times of 10am to 3pm. If you are thinking of calling in then please either call us or email us beforehand to make sure we are able to accommodate you. Just a reminder that Purley is still closed to the public and will not be open until 17th May at the earliest. As social distancing will still be in place on 17th May, when we have residential groups in we will not be open to the general public.
To ensure you do not have a wasted journey, please either call us on 01827 712370 or email us at: [email protected] before you leave for the centre to make sure we can accommodate you.

Thanks to some generous donations we have managed to purchase some wildlife cameras but we have not got them all set up as of yet. Here are a few pictures from the one that has been set up by the bird table on the decking. We hope to share more with you as soon as we have them.

I am sure most of you are aware of the announcement yesterday from Boris Johnson on the easing of restrictions. This does mean that the earliest date that Purley could open is 17th May 2021. This is of course subject to change but this is what we will be working towards.
We look forward to welcoming you back at Purley as soon as it is safe to do so.
