St Peter's Church, Ashton-Under-Lyne

St Peter's Church, Ashton-Under-Lyne St Peter’s is a very friendly, informal, flexible church where worship is modern, open and lively. It is known locally as the ‘Gateway to Ashton’.

St Peter’s church is a very large church situated on a roundabout visible to all as they enter Ashton. The non-judgemental church congregation come together to worship God, to support each other and the local community. The congregation are there to serve the local community and feel that the church building and all that goes on in the church is aimed at being a visible presence in the West End of

Ashton which is an area of great deprivation. The congregation are adaptable to new ideas and believe in having freedom to choose forms of worship and ways of working.

Today we talked about Setting the Table.

We looked at the tables around us and their meaning and importance. We thought about the people who had arranged them with flowers, food, refreshments, bibles, crosses, hymn books, candles, water, and table cloths.
📚 🕯️ ⛪️ 🌷

We thought about space which Is personal and important to us and the items we keep, such as books, games, pictures, teddies, perfume, posters and pictures, drinks and snacks

The children designed their own tables and rooms to create Gods House, filled with love, faith, hope, flowers, music, peace and light
