As part of Small Charity Week, Albion United Reformed Church will be hosting a Summer Garden Party on Saturday 27th June from 1030am - 3.00pm, alongside a community showcase space within the front of the church building.
We would love to invite local charities, voluntary organisations, community groups, and grassroots projects to come along and share some of the important work they are doing across our communities β especially work supporting people who may feel isolated, vulnerable, excluded, or at the margins of society.
Small Charity Week feels like the perfect opportunity to celebrate the impact local organisations have every single day, often quietly and with limited resources, yet making an enormous difference to peopleβs lives.
We are particularly keen to connect with groups involved in:
Mental health and wellbeing
Neurodiversity and autism support
Community inclusion
Poverty and food support
LGBTQ+ support
Older adult services
Youth work
Disability advocacy
Creative/community arts projects
Social prescribing and wellbeing initiatives
Faith and community outreach
We have already started conversations with organisations, but we would really welcome many more local stakeholders getting involved.
Alongside the showcase area, we will also be sharing some of the developing vision for Albion and how we hope to continue evolving the church building into a more accessible, inclusive, and genuinely multi-use community asset for Ashton-under-Lyne.
The event will also include a low-arousal sensory-friendly quiet space for anyone who may benefit from a calmer environment during the day.
If your organisation, project, or community initiative would like to take part, showcase your work, or simply start a conversation about future collaboration, please feel free to get in touch.
Weβd love this to become a celebration of local community action, connection, and inclusion during Small Charity Week. If you are interested, please email [email protected] for more information.
