Ashton under Hill Parish Council

Ashton under Hill Parish Council Welcome to Ashton under Hill Parish Council's page! We will keep you updated on information relating to the council's work.

Ashton under Hill Parish Council has seven members. We are here to represent the views and needs of parishioners. We work closely with Wychavon District Council, Worcestershire County Council, the police, local health authorities and other organisations. We are keen to keep residents up to date with the work that the Parish Council is doing and we would welcome comments, ideas and information from

residents. However, please be aware that any opinions residents might express on this page are those of individuals rather than the council as a whole.

The year is 2035 and Dan Amis has a dream: To save the world’s great apes from extinction.
Follow him and his Pershore-based charity’s hilarious and increasingly desperate attempts at raising money in ‘All in a Good Cause’, the world’s first ever musical fundraising farce!
This brand-new production, featuring original songs by ex-Bad Manners band member Dave Horne and Nick Thomas, will be performed by our very own Ashton Players, in the superb Number 8 Theatre in Pershore.
Friday, 15th May 2026 at 7.30pm.
Don’t miss out! Tickets: £12.50 from the box office or at number8.org

The annual Village Night is fast approaching, it's next Friday evening 18th July, starting at 6pm at the Cricket Club. Please put in your diaries and calendars !

There will be fabulous live music from Kickback 🎶 returning after popular demand and the usual games and activities for all the family 🥚👢including the famous egg catching.

The cricket club bar will be well stocked, including real ale pints🍻 and a separate cocktail 🍸🍹 & wine bar🥂🍷 on the side patio. A Big BBQ 🍔🍦🥞 is also planned !

All of these will offer exceptional value and there is no entry fee. The event is coordinated as a fundraiser so please refrain from bringing your own drinks or snacks . This year's selected Charity is Pancreatic Cancer UK, together with St Richard's Hospice, in fond memory of Deborah Whitehouse.

It’s a fun night and great way to round off the school term before everyone disappears on holidays. Thanks for all the support.

Hope to see you there !

Afternoon everyone. Message from the Open Gardens team....

When you walk through the village and visit a few of the gardens over the Open Gardens weekend, you realise quite how very fortunate we all are to live in such a wonderful part of the country. We have a fabulous village with a great community of friends and villagers around us.

Once again the weather forecast wasn’t as bad as the BBC predicted, and as they say, 'the sun shines on the righteous'.

Ashton Open Gardens weekend (its 46th year!) was a great success, yet again, and I know I say it every year, but it simply would not happen without all the gardeners, willing volunteers and of course the AOG committee.

Over the weekend we appear to have had in the region of 900 visitors. All refreshment venues did well, with our visitors taking full advantage of our great hospitality and fine fare. The gardens and the village looked amazing, and as usual feedback and interaction with the visitors over the weekend, simply a joy.
One quote from the many positive feedback forms......'Excellent selection of gardens and refreshments, I cannot think of any improvement.'

Open Gardens is one of the few events we have that brings money into the village from outside, and as a result each year we’re able to donate to village causes and organisations to help upkeep the general welfare and strong community aspect to our village.

Thank you to you all for helping make the event a success.
Jim Teague
AOG Committee Chair.

Any cakes or scones that you might be able to last minute bake would be very gratefully accepted.

We really hope you might be able to help the team. Open Gardens weekend is always a lot of fun. Contact details below:
