We turn up on Sunday, worship, hear a good word, feel strong for a few hours… then go the whole week without opening our Bible, without praying beyond a quick “thank You for this food,” without a single moment of stillness with God. Then Monday hits, the pressure comes, temptation shows up, and we wonder why we feel so spiritually weak.
Sunday is meant to be a top-up, not your only meal.
Paul told Timothy to train himself for godliness, because physical training has some value, but godliness has value in every way, for this life and the next (1 Timothy 4:7–8). Jesus said we don’t live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God (Matthew 4:4). Daily bread. Not weekly.
Spiritual strength is built in the small, unseen reps. Five minutes in the Word before you check your phone. Prayer on the drive to work. Worship while you wash the dishes. Choosing to forgive when nobody’s watching. That’s the training that holds you up when life gets heavy.
You don’t build muscle in one session, and you don’t build faith in one service.
