It was our version of the Antiques Road Trip today.

We split off into teams with £5 to find goodies in local charity shops that could be packaged up and sold at an auction back in our church hall.

There were many "high quality" lots sold by our resident expert auctioneer, Mick.

All the proceeds from the auction are going to support the with projects they are working on in Africa.

In total we contributed around £100 to local charity shops in Ashby and raised another £172 for Meal-a-Day.

Love never ends.

As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away.

For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away.

When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways.

For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.

So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three;

but the greatest of these is love.

Going once, going twice, SOLD!

We had a charity auction with a twist today at church.

Following the idea of the Antiques Road Trip programme, we split into teams to find bargains for under a fiver in the local charity shops.🧐💷

Then we all came back to our church hall to hold an auction for the things we'd just found and bought!

From novelty a biscuit tin in the shape of a post box, to a rattan-framed mirror, to a Paw Patrol back pack, there was an eclectic range of bargains on offer 😊

The great news is that besides supporting our local charity shops, we raised an additional £200 for Cara Fund, a Christadelphian charity in the UK that helps asylum seekers and refugees find long term accommodation. ❤️

Praise be to God for the blessing of freedom we enjoy.
