St Mary’s Stewardship Campaign Gets Underway
If you live in the parish, you should have received a letter with an overview of our stewardship campaign that launches in a couple of weeks’ time. You can also read about it in the Parish Magazine. We decided to circulate this to all homes as many who are not actively involved in the church still value the presence of St Mary’s in our village. Those people who are involved with the church in some way – on the church electoral roll for instance – will also receive a more detailed pack explaining the background to the campaign and inviting participation. These will be delivered or can be picked up from the church at services from September 12th. All the information (including some Frequently Asked Questions) is now on the St Mary’s website in a new section with the heading “Stewardship” on the Home Page. There is also the potential to email the materials, especially for those who live further from the parish. One way or another, we will get the information to all who express an interest. Please do take some time to read the materials and consider helping us in whatever way you can.

Archbishop Sarah has just issued this statement in response to the incident at The Big Church Festival. Today at midday St Michael and All Angels, Eastbourne, will be open for anyone who wishes to gather and to pray for all concerned .

This Year’s Ride + Stride will be on September 12th

Ride + Stride is an annual event that that raises more than £1.5 million
for churches right across the country. For the Sussex Historic Churches
Trust, it is by far its biggest fundraiser of the year and plays a vital
role in enabling the Trust to help churches throughout East and West Sussex.
Funds raised are shared equally between the Trust and the place of worship
nominated by each participant. If you are interested in walking or riding
around some of our beautiful churches and countryside to raise money, you
