We were delighted to welcome Abbi Temple from Chamber Choir Ireland to our Jubilus rehearsal this week. Abbi led an inspiring choral workshop, and our young choristers learnt so much while thoroughly enjoying the experience. Thank you, Abbi, for sharing your expertise, enthusiasm, and passion for singing with us!

Jubilus welcomed a very special new chorister to their ranks on Wednesday - for one day only!

Fr Barry spent some time with Jubilus, chatting about the benefits of choral singing and asking what they enjoy most about being part of the choir. Their enthusiasm and thoughtful responses were a joy to hear and it was lovely to reflect on how far Jubilus has come.

From singing in Irish, Latin and English, to performing twice in television broadcasts in this academic year alone, their growing confidence and skill has been so uplifting for congregations to witness.

We’re already looking ahead to some exciting projects in the Autumn term!

Christ is Risen! Alleluia!

The Cathedral Choir was privileged to provide the music for the Easter ceremonies throughout this Holy Week.

Today, on this most holy and joyful day, Jubilus Choir offered the music for the Mass of the Lord’s Resurrection. It was a great joy to take part in so wonderful a celebration of the Resurrection.

We give thanks for the gift of music and for all who serve so faithfully in our cathedral.

We wish you a blessed, joyful and peaceful Easter.

Orla and Sara-Jane have spent the past two days in Leeds attending the National Schools Singing Programme Conference.

It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with others who share a passion for music in schools. We loved catching up with James and Rebecca from St Peter's Cathedral, Belfast as well as meeting colleagues from dioceses across the UK.

The conference provided valuable insights and inspiration, giving us lots of ideas about how our own Schools Singing Programme can continue to grow and develop.

It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of our dear friend and choir member, Denise Hagan.

Denise was a treasured part of our cathedral choir family. Her commitment, warmth, and gentle presence enriched our music in countless ways. She gave so generously of her time and talent, and her voice, both musical and personally, will be profoundly missed.

We are grateful for the many memories we shared with her, especially the joy and reverence she brought to our singing. Denise’s legacy will live on in the music we continue to make together.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Denise’s family and loved ones at this difficult time. May her gentle soul rest in peace.
