LOOKING AHEAD
📌Event and Outreach Prayer Meeting – Wed 17th June, Lecture Hall. Starting at the later time of 8.30pm.
📌Flower Festival – The Fund-Raising Committee are organising a Flower Festival which will take place in the Upper Church from Fri 19th June – Sun 21st June.
The festival will be open;
• Fri 19th June: 2pm - 8pm
• Sat 20th June: 10am - 8pm
• Sun 21st June: 2pm - 7pm
This will be a major event, which has been widely advertised and, we expect, will attract a large number of visitors from a wide geographical area. It also has the potential to raise a significant amount of money towards our new halls project.
Given the size of this event we will require support from the vast majority of the congregation and are therefore launching an appeal for assistance in a number of areas.
Up to 7 large church groups are discussing attending and there is a requirement for hot meals or tea/coffee. Sit down meals will be available for these groups at specified times in the Small Memorial Hall and tea, coffee, scones, and traybakes will be available throughout the event in the Lecture Hall. In order to cater for this, we intend to organise a number of catering teams on a rota throughout the 3 days. If you are available at any stage over this period and are prepared to help or can supply tea, coffee, scones, traybakes etc, please leave your details on the sheets in the porch.
Stewards will be required throughout the event for the inside of the church, the church grounds, to control parking on the road outside the Upper Church, the Small Memorial Hall, and in our new halls site. Again, if you are available, please leave your details on the sheet in the hall.
Finally, we have received quite generous sponsorship from business owners in our own congregation and in the local community and this will go some way to offset the costs of running this event. If you feel able to assist in this regard by making a financial contribution to the event, please speak to Mr Ronnie Totten, our church Treasurer.
Fliers for the Flower Festival are available in the porch to use to invite friends.

PRAYER POINTS FOR THE WEEK
• Sun 7 June: Give thanks for all the teaching that our boys and girls have received throughout the year in Sunday Club and Rock Solid. Pray for our children as they lead worship in our Children’s Day service today.
• Mon 8 June: Please continue to pray for Mihai and Irina Chisari (EMF, Moldova) as Irina continues her cancer treatment. Surgery may be necessary after all but waiting on an MRI scan mid-July to determine this. Pray for God’s strength and healing.
• Tue 9 June: Pray for the Moderator, Rt Rev Dr Richard Murray, as he leads the first part of the General Assembly before stepping down from office. Give thanks for his dedication, resilience and leadership in what have been challenging times for the denomination. Pray for a period of rest and refreshment before he resumes his ministry full-time in the congregation of Drumreagh.
• Wed 10 June: Pray for the outworking of all decisions taken at General Assembly, that they might be implemented faithfully and wisely. Remember Rev Dr Richard Kerr as he is installed today and commences his year as Moderator, that he will know God’s guiding and the inspiration of the Holy Spirit in the year ahead.
• Thur 11 June: Pray for the Armagh Show organising committee and volunteers as they work very hard on final preparations for the show on Saturday.
• Fri 12 June: As the General Assembly closes with worship at noon today, pray for the outworking of all decisions taken through the week, that they might be implemented faithfully and wisely.
• Sat 13 June: Pray for our shared CPC and MPC outreach stand at the Armagh Show and all our volunteers that many gospel conversations may be enjoyed. Pray also for the work of the Rural Chaplaincy Team as they build relationships in the rural community for Jesus.
