A wonderful start to our pilgrimage to Dublin today.

We began at the ancient monastery of Monasterboice before gathering in prayer for peace at Pope St John Paul II’s Peace Cross. Onwards now to the Shrine of Venerable Matt Talbot, to give thanks for his inspiring witness of faith, hope and conversion.

Our pilgrimage continues with Mass in St Kevin’s Church, where we look forward to hearing Fr Mike Schmitz preach.

Please keep all our pilgrims in your prayers as we continue this day of faith, prayer and fellowship.

Archbishop Eamon Martin has warmly welcomed the appointment of Bishop Michael Router as the new Bishop of Derry.

In his message, Archbishop Eamon spoke of the great joy this appointment brings, while also acknowledging how deeply Bishop Michael will be missed in the Archdiocese of Armagh.

For the past seven years, Bishop Michael has served our diocese with warmth, generosity and faith. He has been a much-loved presence among our people, priests, religious and pastoral communities.

We send him to the Diocese of Derry with our affection, gratitude and prayers for all he has given to the Archdiocese of Armagh.

Archbishop Eamon has also thanked Bishop Donal McKeown for his faithful service and wished him every blessing in retirement.

The Archdiocese of Armagh is pleased to publish the report of the Diocesan Congress on Youth, Family and Faith.

The report gathers the prayer, listening, hopes and discernment that shaped the Congress and points towards the next steps for renewal across our parishes, schools, families and communities.

All are invited to read the report prayerfully, to reflect on what gives hope, what challenges us and to think where the Holy Spirit may be calling us all to take the next faithful steps together.

Later Today we gather in Armagh for our Diocesan Congress on Youth, Family and Faith.

From across our parishes and communities, young people, families, clergy, and delegates come together, each bringing their story, their faith, and their hope for the future of the Church.

As we begin, we place Our Congress into God’s hands, trusting that the Holy Spirit will guide us in all that we say, do and discern.

Prayer
Lord, be with us as we begin.
Gather us in your love,
guide us by your Spirit,
and open our hearts to one another.
May this Congress be a place of encounter, renewal, and hope.
Come, Holy Spirit.
