All Saints' Church Appley Bridge Welcome to All Saints, a friendly Anglican church, dedicated to the Gospel and our Christian faith. For details of forthcoming services, please see our website.

Matthew and Chloe tied the knot at Christ Church on Saturday 19th September in a lovely service conducted by Rev Sue. Members of All Saints and Christ Church families were in church to witness the happy occasion. Many Congratulations and every blessing for a long and happy marriage Mr and Mrs Hutcheon!!

Everyday environmental actions suggested by the Church in Lancashire's recent online meeting.
Participants shared practical changes they make or could make in everyday life:

Have a timed shower.
Buy one large bag of crisps and divide it into packed lunches rather than using several individual packets.
Use a carpet sweeper instead of an electric vacuum for everyday cleaning.
Encourage friends and family to choose 100% renewable electricity suppliers, with Ecotricity, Octopus and Good Energy mentioned.
Use refill schemes for household products.
Develop or use community composting.
Buy clothes from charity shops.
Set up a church sharing or “Danish box” where unwanted items can be left for others to use.
Use specialist recycling schemes such as TerraCycle.

We will be holding a 'churchyard refurb' session soon for adult volunteers ( including older supervised young people). Date and time and job list to be confirmed.
A session in the churchyard for younger members of the church family will follow in due course.

FAMILY TIME IS BACK! - children, parents, grandparents and family all welcome at All Saints on Sunday September 13th at 9am as we return to our regular Family Service after the summer break!
Communion service at 10-30am - all welcome.

Sunday 23rd August - service of Holy Communion at 10-30am, presided over by the Rev Sue Timmins. Time for worship and socialising afterwards. Everyone welcome - a warm welcome awaits!

Bank Holiday Sunday August 30th - Holy Communion, led by Rev Wendy assisted by lay minister Sara. Again all welcome as we come to the end of the holiday period and brace ourselves for another school term!

CONGRATULATIONS to all our church family members who have passed muster in the A level and O level results - your hard work has been rewarded, and we wish you every blessing and success for your futures wherever they lead.

Could you make a contribution to life at All Saints Church?

We are looking to recruit / encourage adults to help with regular church ‘tasks’ on a rota, including acting as welcoming sides people on Sunday ( and at other services occasionally), refreshments preparation on Sundays, Bible Reading volunteers in all services on Sunday (and occasional readings at special services and special times of the Christian year), gardening and maintenance volunteers ( particularly folk who can wield a paintbrush!), and parents who could potentially help with Church For Kids ( at the back of church on Sundays.)
There is work to be done both inside and outside church in the next few weeks: many hands will make light work of it!
If you feel you would like to contribute, just talk to Mike, Ian, Mark, Sara, Cath, Debby in church on a Sunday.
Volunteers who will be working with children (or vulnerable adults) will need a DBS check as part of our safeguarding system. A DBS check will not be needed for readers, refreshmenters, gardeners, maintainers and sidespeople.

Our church craft group meets every Thursday from 2pm to 4pm. Any crafting skill welcome, there are projects under way in support of our Christmas Fair in November, but anyone with an interest in crafting is welcome. Refreshments are served throughout the afternoon. The craft group is led by Linda Cunliffe.
